Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company proposed to start construction of a pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River one month earlier than the original plan.
February 5, information from Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company Nutifood said that the unit has just sent an official dispatch to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City about starting the construction of a pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River.

Accordingly, Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company proposed to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of this bridge on March 29, one month earlier than planned.
According to the company, this is a passionate project, showing the gratitude of the unit to the people of Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, Nutifood has worked hard with partners and authorities to shorten the preparation time while still ensuring quality and safety to quickly build the bridge.
Nutifood hopes that the city authorities will consider and approve the proposal to start construction so that the bridge can be deployed on time and soon be launched to serve the community.
It is known that the partners chosen by Nutifood to build the bridge with a total investment of about 1,000 billion VND up to this point include: Joint venture of Chodai & Kiso - Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chodai Co., Ltd., Niwa Architecture Co., Ltd. and My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport).
In which, the consortium of Chodai & Kiso - Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chodai Co., Ltd., Niwa Architecture Co., Ltd. is the first prize winner in the pedestrian bridge architecture competition, whose selection results were approved by the City People's Committee in October 2023.
Currently, Nutifood is urgently selecting and will announce the construction contractor consortium at the groundbreaking ceremony on March 29.

According to the plan, the bridge has its starting point in the Bach Dang wharf park area (District 1), its ending point is in the riverside park area, adjacent to Nguyen Thien Thanh Street (Route R3) in the new urban area of Thu Thiem (Thu Duc City).
The bridge is about 261m long, the main span of the cable-stayed arch is about 187m long, steel girder. The cross section of the main bridge has a width ranging from 7-11m, the clearance size is 80x10m.
The approach bridge and ramp on the District 1 side is about 285m long, 6m wide, the ramp bridge span is made of reinforced concrete beams. On the Thu Duc City side, the approach bridge and ramp have two branches.
Branch 1 is about 290m long, 6m wide, steel beam. Branch 2 is about 165m long, 6m wide, steel beam combined with reinforced concrete beam.
Technical infrastructure includes traffic lighting and drainage systems on the bridge. In addition, there are structures, elevator equipment and other utility functions.
For the Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roofing and artistic lighting for the project, the project will be considered for implementation at a later stage when the project is established as public ownership.
The pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River, in addition to its goal of connecting traffic, also aims to become a new architectural symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the value of connecting the two historical and cultural spaces of District 1 and Thu Duc City.
The bridge will create a public space that is friendly, safe, convenient, and attracts people to visit. At the same time, it will gradually complete and perfect the planned transportation network, contributing to socio-economic development.
