On November 20, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of this province has just sent an official dispatch to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Ministry of Finance to consider and support funding to overcome coastal erosion in the province with an amount of 2,070 billion VND.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, over the past 10 years, the province's coastline has been increasingly eroded. The East coast passing through the province is currently eroding at a particularly dangerous and dangerous level, requiring protective engineering solutions to prevent and combat erosion with a total length of 69.450 km (29.15 km of particularly dangerous erosion; 40.3 km of dangerous erosion). Meanwhile, the West coast is currently experiencing dangerous erosion with a length of 22 km.

Previously, on August 24, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province announced a natural disaster emergency situation for especially dangerous landslide sections.

Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee proposed the Central Government to support 2,070 billion VND to overcome coastal erosion in the province.

In recent times, Ca Mau province has mobilized all resources to overcome the consequences caused by landslides. However, due to the large scale of landslides and their complex nature, there are still many serious landslide locations that have not been handled due to lack of funds. In addition, landslides are currently occurring continuously and daily, posing risks to human life and property if not promptly remedied.

On October 8, Ca Mau received funding from the Central Government to handle landslides in 3 urgent projects with a length of 7.6 km and a budget of 500 billion VND. However, the above-mentioned funding from the Central Government only solved 7.6/29.15 km of particularly dangerous landslides on the East Sea coast. Currently, the remaining 3 urgent projects are developing very complicatedly, requiring urgent implementation of engineering solutions to protect the safety of infrastructure, production, and the lives of people inside, in an emergency situation.

Faced with the above reality, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province proposed that the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Ministry of Finance consider and support the province with VND 2,070 billion to handle and overcome coastal erosion with a total length of nearly 43 km.
