Air Force Officer School Admissions Target 2025

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Lieutenant Colonel Luong Viet Cuong, admissions assistant at the Air Force Officer School (Ministry of National Defense), said that this year is the first year the school has been assigned to enroll students in the unmanned aerial vehicle command and staff major, with training lasting four years.

The recruitment of students majoring in unmanned aerial vehicles aims to meet the need to prepare military human resources in line with the development of science, technology and military engineering in the world.

According to Mr. Cuong, to meet the opening of the drone industry, the school has prepared lecturers, facilities, and built training programs many years ago.

After preparing all the conditions to ensure quality, from 2025, the school will officially enroll university level students in this major.

"As air force staff commanders, students studying unmanned aerial vehicles will master technical knowledge and control of UAVs," said Mr. Cuong.

UAV is an abbreviation for the phrase “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle”, meaning an unmanned aerial vehicle, abbreviated as a drone. This is a term for aircraft without a pilot, like a robot that can be remotely controlled by a complex system.

Previously, at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, a series of Vietnamese defense industry products serving modern combat were introduced for the first time, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), reconnaissance and jamming complexes, and especially UAVs with a flight range of up to 1,000km.

These UAV products are all technology-mastered, researched, developed and manufactured 100% domestically by units under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

This is considered a breakthrough in Vietnam's defense industry in recent times.
