The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to teach correctly and sufficiently, without cutting corners on the curriculum. The creation of regular and periodic tests and assessments must closely follow the requirements of the 2018 general education program, without putting pressure on students.
The above document also requires schools to assign teachers to ensure the prescribed teaching hours, and prioritize appropriate assignments for final grade teachers to have maximum time to support students in reviewing for the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam according to the school's education plan.
The Department encourages schools to proactively apply learning management systems (LMS) and learning content management systems (LCMS) in educational institutions. Teachers are encouraged to exploit and use software and review websites to provide online review, testing, and assessment materials, manage students' self-review, and guide students in self-study methods.
Encourage students to install the HanoiOn app to support their review. Homeroom teachers and subject teachers must have solutions to coordinate with parents to help students arrange a reasonable review time, have a suitable diet, rest, and exercise regimen so that students have enough health during the review period and take the exam.
Particularly for final year students of junior high school and high school, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasized: Do not loosen the organization of review for students whose learning results do not meet requirements. Schools must classify students' levels to have appropriate and effective review methods.
Pay attention to instructing grade 12 students to familiarize themselves with the high school graduation exam format prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and the structure of the 10th grade entrance exam format prescribed by the Department. During the review period, schools must open school libraries and classrooms, creating conditions to support students when they encounter difficulties.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also sent a document to the Ministry of Education and Training requesting the ministry to adjust the high school graduation exam schedule compared to the announced schedule. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also advised the City People's Committee to adjust the enrollment plan for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year to suit the practical situation.
The reason for this proposal is that this is the first year that students across the country will take the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam according to the 2018 general education program. This is also the year with many circulars related to exams, enrollment, extra teaching, extra learning... which have an impact on teaching and learning.
Meanwhile, Hanoi is the locality with the number of students applying for grade 10 accounting for 10% of the total number of students nationwide and the largest number of students taking the high school graduation exam in the country.
