Binh Dinh inaugurates billion-dollar road connecting North-South expressway

On August 31, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province held an inauguration ceremony for the coastal road connecting Hoai Nhon town.

The project starts at the intersection with DT638 at Km 19+291 in Hoai Thanh Tay ward; ends at the intersection with the coastal road (DT639) at Km 99+206 in Tam Quan Nam ward.

Leaders of Binh Dinh province cut the ribbon to inaugurate the project.

The project has a total investment of 786 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 400 billion VND, the rest is from Binh Dinh province's budget.

The route is designed according to the standards of a level III plain road with a design speed of 80km/h, and a route length of about 7km. The route passes through the wards of Hoai Thanh Tay, Hoai Thanh, Tam Quan Nam, Hoai Nhon town with a roadbed width of 22m.

The asphalt concrete road surface is 19m wide, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles; the median strip is 2m wide. Complete the construction of the lighting system to ensure traffic safety and plant trees in the median strip.

The project started construction in April 2022. After more than 2 years of construction, there were many difficulties and problems, especially in compensation and site clearance, which affected the project's construction progress.

However, with the attention and direction of the provincial leaders and the consensus of the people, the project progress has been on schedule, opening up a new development space, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Hoai Nhon town in particular and Binh Dinh province in general in the coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that the coastal road connecting Hoai Nhon town was inaugurated and put into use to meet transportation needs, strengthen traffic connections in the East-West direction (from the North-South expressway to the coastal road), creating conditions to promote socio-economic development of Hoai Nhon town, one of the three main development poles of Binh Dinh.

The route will help connect East-West to the North-South expressway.

"The route creates momentum for new urban development associated with modern industrial development. Helps expand Hoai Nhon urban space towards the sea, gradually completing the town's urban planning.

"Creating budget revenue from land funds along the project, contributing to completing the transport infrastructure system for the northern region of the province, promoting the growth pole in the northern region of the province and ensuring national security and defense," Mr. Hoang shared.
