On the morning of July 13, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2023. Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac chaired the conference.
Reporting at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, said that in the first 6 months of the year, the Commission had successfully completed its tasks according to the set program and plan.

The Committee has completed and submitted to the Standing Secretariat the draft regulation of the Politburo on “Controlling power to prevent and combat corruption and negativity in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments”. At the same time, the Central Internal Affairs Committee focused on researching and developing 5 major projects: Summarizing the implementation of Directive No. 33-CT/TW of the Politburo; Amending the Coordination Regulation between the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court; Project "Mechanism to protect agencies, organizations and individuals performing public duties in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments"; Project "Research and propose a model of specialized anti-corruption agencies and units"; Project "Solutions to direct and rectify, overcome manifestations of pushing, avoiding, working half-heartedly, and being afraid of making mistakes among a number of cadres and party members, especially leaders and managers at all levels".
In addition, the Central Internal Affairs Commission has presided over the editing, publishing, and organizing the launching ceremony of the book "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity, contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; coordinated the development of documents to guide the dissemination, popularization, and understanding of the book's content and value....
Concluding the conference, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac commended the Commission's units for successfully completing their tasks in the first 6 months of 2023.
In particular, the work of monitoring, urging, coordinating and advising on the handling of cases and incidents has had many positive changes; especially in the policies and guidelines for handling some serious, complicated, sensitive and wide-ranging cases (such as the case related to Viet A Company, Military Medical Academy and related units and localities; cases occurring at Van Thinh Phat Group Joint Stock Company, SCB Joint Stock Commercial Bank, cases occurring in the field of vehicle inspection...). In particular, it has advised on the direction of investigation, prosecution and trial in absentia of the suspects and defendants who are on the run in the case occurring at Dong Nai General Hospital, Quang Ninh General Hospital and AIC Company.
In addition, the Central Internal Affairs Committee has promptly guided the Steering Committees for anti-corruption and negativity in provinces and cities to direct the handling of many serious and complicated cases; paid attention to advising on the handling of cases with unjust, incorrect, complicated, prolonged complaints, and public concerns...
In addition to the achieved results, there are still some limitations such as the progress of some tasks is still slow, the quality does not meet the requirements. The initiative and sensitivity in research, consulting in some units and fields, the effectiveness of monitoring and grasping the situation in the area is still limited...

The Central Internal Affairs Committee closely follows the progress of cases and incidents, proactively studies and advises on cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee. In particular, it pays attention to monitoring and urging cases and incidents separated in phase 2; promptly handles recommendations and proposals from relevant agencies and localities, does not let it drag on, affecting the progress of investigation and settlement of cases and incidents,...
Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac also noted that the Central Internal Affairs Commission should be more sensitive, thorough, and proactive in advising and directing emerging issues related to national security and social order and safety; grasp the situation, promptly coordinate and advise on handling a number of incidents involving large crowds that cause instability in security and order. The Commission should strengthen and improve the effectiveness of guidance, urging, inspection, and supervision of internal affairs, prevention and fight against corruption, negativity, and judicial reform in localities, ministries, and central branches.
