In 2024, the Party Internal Affairs sector made many efforts and attempts to quite comprehensively complete the tasks according to the work program. In particular, it advised the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Provincial Party Committee, and the City Party Committee to summarize, issue and effectively implement many important policies and regulations on internal affairs, prevention and control of corruption, waste, negativity (PCTNLPTC) and judicial reform. At the same time, it completed the development and submitted to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Steering Committee 10 major projects on internal affairs, PCTNLPTC and judicial reform.

In particular, focus on advising and directing the handling of cases and incidents in the fields of internal affairs and anti-corruption, especially advising and directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the investigation progress, thoroughly handling many serious and complicated corruption and negative cases and incidents that are of public interest, creating synchronous changes in anti-corruption work at the central and local levels. The Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees proactively monitor, urge and advise, and propose to the Standing Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees to direct the handling of 513 cases and incidents, of which 391 are prominent and complicated cases related to security and order.
In addition, actively and proactively grasp the situation, strengthen monitoring, guidance, urging, inspection, supervision, promptly advise and direct, handle complicated emerging issues, contributing to improving the effectiveness of internal affairs, anti-corruption work and judicial reform. At the same time, participate in appraising and giving opinions on personnel work and projects and documents related to internal affairs, anti-corruption work and judicial reform. In 2024, the Central Internal Affairs Committee appraised and gave opinions on 98 projects; the Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees appraised 867 projects, and gave opinions on 1,462 projects.
The Internal Affairs sector has done a good job of receiving and handling petitions and letters, meeting citizens; advising the heads of Party committees to receive and dialogue with citizens. In 2024, the Central Internal Affairs Committee received and processed 10,519 petitions, letters of reflection, recommendations, complaints and denunciations; the Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees chaired and coordinated to help Party committee secretaries organize 1,246 meetings and dialogues with 4,642 citizens, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety.
Speaking at the conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: In 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, the socio-economic situation, national defense and security, foreign affairs... have achieved many important achievements. Internal affairs work on anti-corruption has been deployed strongly, resolutely, continuously, without rest, without forbidden areas, without exceptions. From there, the trust and consensus of cadres, party members, and people towards the Party, the State, and the regime continue to be strengthened.
General Secretary To Lam said that, with its position and role as a strategic advisory body, the "eyes and ears" of the Party, the Internal Affairs sector advises the Party to lead and direct the continued promotion of anti-corruption work. The Internal Affairs sector and the Steering Committees at all levels continue to improve the effectiveness of research and propose the Party's viewpoints and policies on internal affairs, anti-corruption and judicial reform; focus on researching, advising, proposing, perfecting and improving the quality of draft documents for Party congresses at all levels and the Party's congresses. Advise and direct the supplementation and overcoming of loopholes and inadequacies, removing bottlenecks and bottlenecks in institutions in general and in the field of anti-corruption in particular, creating new momentum for the country's development.
Focus on advising, directing the implementation, and drastic implementation, creating strong changes and breakthroughs in waste prevention and control work throughout society. Further improve the effectiveness of solutions to prevent corruption, waste, and negativity with the motto of early and remote prevention, not allowing small violations to accumulate into major violations.
In particular, the Internal Affairs sector needs to urgently review and streamline its apparatus in accordance with the plan to summarize Resolution No. 18 of the Central Steering Committee; build a team of Internal Affairs cadres, prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity that must be truly brave, "diligent, thrifty, honest, impartial and selfless".
