7/15 communes do not have OCOP products

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province, after 5 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, currently in the district there are 29 products recognized as OCOP products, of which 6 products have achieved 4 stars and 23 products have achieved 3 stars, no products have been recalled. However, the whole district still has 7/15 communes without OCOP products including Trieu Thanh, Trieu Thuong, Trieu Giang, Trieu Trach, Trieu Long, Trieu Trung and Trieu Phuoc.

According to the assessment of the functional sector, the reason is that the implementation of the program is not uniform among localities, some communes concentrate on many products, many subjects with rich and diverse product sets.

In addition, some localities have not given strong direction to implement the program, so there are no products that meet OCOP standards. Many products that have been recognized now tend to be unable to maintain production and are at risk of having their certificates revoked because they are not competitive enough with similar products currently on the market in terms of price, quality, and design.

To overcome the above situation, in 2025, Trieu Phong district will promote information and propaganda activities on the content of the program and the annual OCOP cycle. Especially for communes that do not have OCOP products, it is necessary to strengthen the implementation so that each commune has at least one typical OCOP product; promptly reflect the difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings in the implementation of the OCOP Program in localities.

At the same time, prioritize the selection of products associated with the advantages and strengths of local raw material areas and indigenous resources, processed products, traditional products, craft villages and encourage the construction and development of new product ideas.
