Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that an attack plot targeting a US airbase at Kharab al-Jir airport, north of al-Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, had failed.
According to SOHR, US ground defense forces intercepted and shot down the drones before they reached the base.
Following the drone attack, armed militants launched missiles at the Kharab al-Jir base. US ground defense forces continued to intercept these missiles and there were no casualties at the US base.
SOHR said armed groups based in Iraq were behind the attacks.
Meanwhile, US forces in the region have not commented on this information.
