Pepper price today, March 6, 2025, in the domestic market increased slightly in key localities, trading from 156,000 - 159,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 157,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (156,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (159,200 VND/kg); Dak Nong (159,200 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (158,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (158,000 VND/kg).

Thus, pepper prices today increased slightly in Dak Nong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, an increase of 200 - 1,000 VND/kg, while remaining stable in the remaining growing areas. The highest pepper price is at 159,200 VND/kg.

Vietnam's Pepper and Spice Industry continues to affirm its important position in the global market, accounting for 40% of total output and nearly 55% of world pepper export turnover. However, in the context of increasingly fierce integration and competition, improving quality, risk management and expanding cooperation opportunities are core factors for the industry to develop sustainably.

By the end of 2024, the pepper growing area will reach 110,500 hectares, with an average yield of 26 quintals/ha, double the global average (12.7 quintals/ha), with a total output of about 200,000 tons. Pepper export turnover in 2024 will reach 1.32 billion USD, making an important contribution to Vietnam's agricultural economy.

What is special is that although the pepper growing area is only 15% of the coffee area and 12% of the rubber area, the export value contributes 23% to the coffee industry (5.6 billion USD) and 38% to the rubber industry (3.4 billion USD). This shows the great potential of the pepper industry if invested in the right direction and increased added value.

Pepper development orientation to 2030, the adjusted area is about 80,000-100,000 hectares, the yield is 24-25 quintals/hectare, the output is about 200-230 thousand tons.

By 2030, about 40% of pepper growing area will meet GAP standards or equivalent; about 40-50% of pepper growing area will be granted a growing area code with product traceability. The area for replanting and improving varieties with new high-quality varieties will be about 40-50%;

Developing pepper growing areas according to organic standards and other standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP in key production areas such as Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and other provinces such as Lam Dong, Quang Tri; By 2030, the organic pepper area will reach 5,000 hectares, accounting for 5% of the pepper area.

In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,328 USD/ton, up 0.38%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 6,850 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,700 USD/ton.

Muntok white pepper price is 10,175 USD/ton, up 0.38%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 12,200 USD/ton.

Vietnam black pepper price is trading at 6,900 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper price is at 9,900 USD/ton. Since the beginning of the week, IPC has continuously increased pepper prices in Indonesia.
