Identifying the construction of new rural areas as a continuous goal with no end point, in recent times, Xuan Thanh commune has resolutely and synchronously implemented solutions with proactive and creative approaches.
Immediately after achieving the advanced NTM commune standard in 2019, the Party Committee, government and people of Xuan Thanh commune are determined to continue to maintain and improve the quality of the criteria, striving to build a model NTM commune.
The total investment resources in 10 years of building the new rural area of the commune reached 380.87 billion VND. Of which, the mobilized contribution from the people was 105.21 billion VND; sponsoring units and enterprises sponsored and sponsored 1.2 billion VND; People supported 3.1 billion VND...

In particular, in 10 years, the people have been mobilized to donate 47,136 m2 of land and contribute 198,511 working days to construct projects and expand rural roads with a total value of 77 billion VND. Thanks to that, the whole commune has built more than 57 km of new rural roads, creating convenience for people to travel and trade to develop the economy.
Xuan Thanh commune pays special attention to economic development and income improvement for people. Current average income per capita is 52.06 million VND/person/year; there are no more poor households in the area.
The economy has developed in a diverse manner and shifted strongly towards the rapid increase of industries, tourism, and commercial services. The whole commune has built 40 economic models; 3 cooperatives, 2 cooperative groups, and 16 effective businesses.

The activities of building model residential areas and model gardens spread in the awareness of each citizen, gradually building residential areas into livable countryside. The whole commune currently has 10/10 villages meeting the standards of model residential areas and 22 gardens meeting 5 model garden criteria.
Education and training are given attention, and the quality of teaching and learning is increasingly improved. Up to now, all three schools in the commune have met national standards. The health station has been invested in and built spaciously; primary health care for the people is taken care of. Security, order and social safety are ensured.
Xuan Thanh Commune honored 34 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas in the period 2012 - 2022.
With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the consensus and joint efforts of all the people, in 2021, Xuan Thanh commune completed 16/16 targets of 6 model commune criteria. On July 1, 2022, the Provincial People's Committee recognized Xuan Thanh commune as a model NTM commune in 2021, the first model NTM commune in Nghi Xuan district.
In the coming time, Xuan Thanh commune will continue to focus on completing and improving the quality of model residential area criteria, model commune criteria that are actually in-depth and sustainable, contributing to building the commune to soon reach type IV urban status.
