Although they rarely played at their old clubs, when they returned to Hong Linh Ha Tinh, many players "transformed" to become pillars of the Hong mountain team, and were even called up to the Vietnam National Team.
Entering the 2023 season, Hong Linh Ha Tinh brought in 11 new players, apart from foreign player Paulo Pinto who made his mark at his old team Dong A Thanh Hoa, the remaining 10 names are quite unfamiliar to Vietnamese football fans. Even when the new players were announced, fans felt uneasy with the new names.
However, contrary to the worries of fans, under the guidance of coach Nguyen Thanh Cong, these players had a successful season, becoming pillars of the Hong Mountain team, and were even called up to the Vietnam national team.
1. Midfielder Bui Van Duc
If in the 2022 season, the former midfielder of Ho Chi Minh City Club only played 6 matches with 415 minutes and did not make much of an impression, then in the 2023 season, in the shirt of Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Bui Van Duc seemed to have completely "transformed", becoming a versatile midfielder with abundant physical strength and great fighting spirit.
Playing 1,695 minutes, scoring 1 goal and 6 assists, Bui Van Duc is the second player of Hong Linh Ha Tinh to appear in all matches in all competitions. With good technique and comprehensive offensive and defensive ability, Bui Van Duc has become a whirlwind on the left wing of the Hong mountain team.
With that achievement, Bui Van Duc was recognized by coach Philippe Troussier and called up to the Vietnam national team.
2. Defender Vu Viet Trieu
In the 2022 season, in the Topeland Binh Dinh jersey, Vu Viet Trieu was only allowed to play 10 matches (the tournament has 24 rounds) with 360 minutes of play. However, when becoming a new player of Hong Linh Ha Tinh, the player from Quang Ninh made great progress, becoming an irreplaceable factor in the tactical scheme of coach Nguyen Thanh Cong.
Viet Trieu is at the top of the list of players who have played the most for Hong Linh Ha Tinh in 2023. Defender number 30 played 1,727 minutes in all matches in all competitions that coach Nguyen Thanh Cong's team participated in.
Viet Trieu was also the one who raised the score to 2-0, making an important contribution to helping Hong Linh Ha Tinh win 3-2 against the home team Hai Phong FC in round 4 of V.League 2023.
3. Goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Tung
At Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Duong Quang Tuan with 3 years of experience guarding the goal in V.League and his amazing reflexes, few people would think that the remaining goalkeepers would have a chance to perform. Notably, the 2 reserve goalkeepers of Hong Linh Ha Tinh have no experience in the harsh V.League tournament.
The turning point for Nguyen Thanh Tung came in the match between Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Binh Duong in round 7 of V.League, when goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan was injured and had to leave the field in the 57th minute. 33 minutes on the field were not enough for the goalkeeper who grew up at Viettel's training center to prove his ability when the opponent, Binh Duong, was having a deadlock in attack at that time.
In round 13, welcoming Khanh Hoa at home, the goalkeeper born in 1998 was officially named in the starting lineup, thus opening a new chapter for his professional career. In particular, in the away match against Hanoi Police, with his outstanding height, Thanh Tung left an impression on the "fans" when he made many excellent saves, discouraging the striker of the police team.
In the remaining stages of V.League, Nguyen Thanh Tung continues to be the main goalkeeper for Hong Linh Ha Tinh. Up to now, he has played 8 times with 753 minutes of play.
4. Center back Nguyen Ngoc Thang
Nguyen Ngoc Thang returned to his hometown team after a season on loan at Long An FC. At Long An, Ngoc Thang played 16 matches with 1,034 minutes of play.
Returning to Hong Linh Ha Tinh, right in the opening match of V.League 2023 against Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Pleiku Stadium, the Ky Anh midfielder was brought in as a substitute in the second half. These were his first steps in V.League, and also the match that opened up opportunities for the 2002-born boy to show himself.
Playing 13 matches, possessing a dedicated and dedicated playing style, Ngoc Thang not only scored points with coach Nguyen Thanh Cong, he was also called up and played very successfully at Sea Games 32.
Ngoc Thang is also on the shortlist of 26 players participating in the Southeast Asian U23 tournament taking place from August 17 to 26 in Thailand with 10 participating teams.
5. Striker Vu Quang Nam
In the early stages of V.League 2023, Vu Quang Nam did not play much, but starting from round 8 in the match against Song Lam Nghe An, the Nghe An striker was often present in the starting lineup of Hong Linh Ha Tinh, forming a pair with Abdoulaye Diallo in attack. Quang Nam's appearance helped Hong Linh Ha Tinh's attack improve and complete the top 8 goal after the end of phase 1 of V.League 2023.
Up to now, Vu Quang Nam has scored 2 goals in the National Cup and played 14 matches in professional tournaments in 2023.
7. Striker Abdoulaye Diallo
Striker Abdoulaye Diallo is a very high-quality signing for Hong Linh Ha Tinh this season. The Senegalese striker used to play for FK Orenburg in the Russian Premier League.
Although this was his first time playing in Vietnam, Abdoulaye Diallo adapted very quickly, playing 9 matches with 1,503 minutes. Possessing outstanding physique and speed, this striker has many times had sprints that made the defense of Vietnamese teams falter.
Up to now, Abdoulaye Diallo is the player who scored the most goals for Hong Linh Ha Tinh with 8 goals and ranked 6th on the statistics table of top players scoring the most goals in V.League 2023.
