(VLO) Barracks construction planning is the organization of space, landscape architecture, construction systems, architectural objects, technical infrastructure in the barracks, creating an operating environment suitable for the functions and tasks of the army.

In recent years, the Party Committee and Military Command of Vinh Long province have actively and proactively implemented synchronous solutions to take care of building barracks and headquarters of the Military Command at district and commune levels, better meeting the living and studying needs of officers and soldiers.

Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Providing work is as important as directly fighting the enemy", in recent years, Party committees and commanders at all levels in the provincial armed forces have organized, maintained and seriously implemented emulation movements and campaigns, especially the emulation movement "The military logistics sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings".

Emulation movements of the logistics industry such as: Building good military kitchens, Good financial management units, 5 good military medical units, Building and managing regular, bright, green, clean, and beautiful barracks, have created more motivation to promote the logistics industry to strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

In particular, the barracks of the standing force and the headquarters of the Military Command of the ward and town were built and repaired to be spacious, standard, bright, green, clean and beautiful.

Equipment, facilities, and materials for daily life and work are invested and purchased to meet mission requirements. Since then, the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers has been constantly improved.

The investment in repairing and building new headquarters of military command departments that meet standards not only focuses on the physical facilities, but also fully meets the criteria for campus, equipment and ancillary works to create the best conditions for defense missions.

According to Colonel Le Quang Tho - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, the Military Command is in charge of coordinating with departments, branches, and organizations to advise the Provincial People's Committee to adjust the planning and allocate capital appropriately. This is an important step, ensuring that barracks and offices are suitable for the current military organization and staffing.

Through a survey of the current situation, the Provincial Military Command found that many long-standing construction works have degraded and do not meet usage needs.

In the context of limited budget resources, the unit builds a plan to prioritize renovation and repair of essential works, while at the same time, mobilizing all resources to effectively implement projects.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thai Thanh Phong - Deputy Head of Logistics - Engineering of the Provincial Military Command, informed: The implementation of projects always ensures meeting design standards, construction regulations of the State and the army, and fully functional.

After many years of use, the Binh Tan District Military Command Barracks have deteriorated in terms of facilities such as rest houses and dining rooms. Therefore, in 2024, the project will be renovated, repaired, and the campus will be renovated.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Bui - Commander of Binh Tan District Military Command, this change helps officers and soldiers work more effectively, thereby raising awareness of preserving the environment and landscape green, clean and beautiful.

At Regiment 890, after receiving facilities from the Provincial Military School, the following items were invested in and renovated: rest house, dining room, guard house, new garage, and meeting hall.

From there, creating favorable conditions for officers, soldiers and reserve forces to train, study and work with peace of mind. Along with that, the headquarters of the commune-level military command was built synchronously according to the design, with full functionality.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Trung - Commander of the Military Command of Trung Thanh Dong Commune (Vung Liem District) said that putting into use a standard headquarters contributes to enhancing the position of the armed forces, creating more trust for the people.

This promotes close relations between the army and the people, improves coordination in ensuring security and order, and helps the militia feel more secure in their work.

Along with investment and construction work, the Provincial Military Command pays attention to propaganda work to raise awareness and responsibility for saving electricity and water among officers and soldiers. Use equipment that consumes less energy and promptly replace it when damaged.

With the close leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command and the spirit of solidarity and determination of the officers, soldiers and militia, the construction of barracks has achieved many encouraging results. The spacious, standardized, green, clean and beautiful barracks are not only a source of pride but also a motivation for officers and soldiers of the armed forces to continue to strive to fulfill their tasks well in the new period.
