Exchange rate developments in the domestic market
In the domestic market, according to TG&VN at 7:30 a.m. on September 5, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong to the USD at 24,229 VND, an increase of 5 VND.
The reference USD exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam is listed at: 23,400 VND - 25,385 VND.
USD exchange rates at commercial banks are as follows:
Vietcombank: 24,645 VND - 25,015 VND.
Vietinbank: 24,520 VND - 25,030 VND.

Exchange rate developments in the world market
The US Dollar Index (DXY) measures the greenback's movements against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) at 101.27, down 0.56%.
The dollar fell against most major currencies after U.S. jobs data for July showed a weakening labor market, increasing bets on more interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.
Traders have stepped up bets that the Fed will deliver a 50 basis point cut at its next meeting, after news that July employment fell to a 3-1/2-year low.
US stocks remained weak after a sharp sell-off on September 3 due to concerns about the US economy. Also on September 3, dismal US manufacturing data raised concerns about a hard landing for the world's largest economy.
The dollar fell more than 2% against a basket of currencies in August, then steadied as increased volatility in global financial markets boosted demand for safer currencies.
“The volatility in the stock market and falling US bond yields have sent the Yen soaring,” noted Marc Chandler, chief market strategist at Bannockburn Global Forex.
In contrast, the euro rose 0.2% to $1.107075, recovering from an initial decline. Euro zone business activity was boosted by France hosting the Olympic Games last month.
The British pound rose 0.2 percent to $1.3138 after falling as low as $1.3101.
