USD exchange rate today March 13, 2025 on the world market
The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 103.45 - up 0.12 points compared to March 12, 2025.

Labor Department data showed U.S. consumer prices rose a less-than-expected 0.2% last month, compared with a median forecast of 0.3%, based on economists polled by Reuters.
The report comes after a tense trade war between the United States and its trading partners, marked by unpredictable statements on tariffs by President Donald Trump.
In the latest episode, the European Union announced that it will impose retaliatory tariffs on 26 billion euros ($28.39 billion) of US goods from April, in response to comprehensive US tariffs on steel and aluminum that took effect earlier in the day.
“There was a brief moment of relief because CPI was lower than expected and that created some volatility in currencies, but I think the dollar trend is starting to get a little weak because of the larger trends and there are too many risks around the Ukraine-Russia conflict or tariffs,” said John Velis, Americas macro strategist at BNY.
The dollar rose 0.55% to 148.59 yen against the Japanese yen. Against the Swiss franc, the dollar rose 0.07% to 0.883. The greenback is trading lower against both currencies this month.
The euro fell after hitting a five-month peak of $1.0947 as Ukraine said it was ready to back Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. The Kremlin said it was waiting for details from the United States.
The common European currency has been buoyed by Germany’s promise of massive fiscal spending, although the situation was complicated by the Green Party’s announcement that it would block those plans and released rival proposals. The euro rose 0.27% to $1.0889. The currency has gained nearly 5% against the dollar in March.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies including the yen and the euro, rose 0.22% to 103.68, on track to snap a seven-session losing streak.
“There are many, many moving parts. We don’t see any safe havens in European assets this morning due to the trade war retaliation,” said Kenneth Broux, head of corporate research for foreign exchange and rates at Societe Generale.
The Bank of Canada has cut its key policy rate by 25 basis points to 2.75% and warned of a new crisis as it tries to prepare the country's economy for the damage Trump's tariffs could cause.
President Trump backed away from his pledge to double tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum to 50%, just hours after announcing the higher tariffs on Tuesday. The change came after a Canadian official also backed away from his own plan to impose a 25% surcharge on electricity.
The US dollar weakened against the Canadian dollar, down 0.14% to C$1.44 per US dollar. The US dollar fell 0.36% against the loonie in March.
The British pound fell after hitting a four-month high of $1.29900 earlier in the session. The currency was down 0.13% at $1.29300.
