Leading US technology company Entrupy has announced a groundbreaking service powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to identify counterfeit luxury goods. Entrupy's application allows luxury brand accessories to be scanned using a high-resolution microscope.
The lens plays a particularly important role in multi-dimensional scanning technology, including details such as product curves, logos, leather textures as well as serial numbers.
This data is then analyzed and compared against an extensive database trained by a neural network, allowing features to be identified and associated with specific manufacturing plants or product batches.
The app's claimed accuracy is 99%, making it a very effective tool in the fight against counterfeiting. This high accuracy is especially important for accessories, as they are often counterfeited.
The system's ability to provide results within minutes of completing a scan allows the application to be widely deployed in retail operations.
The potential of the app to prevent counterfeit products will help genuine brands maintain consumer trust and effectively combat the current counterfeiting problem.
