On the morning of February 25, the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the delegation of non-governmental organizations DID and SOCODEVI (Canada) on the cooperation plan to implement the Project "Biodiversity and Livelihood Opportunities for Ethnic Minority Women in the period 2025-2030" (abbreviated as BLOOM Project) in Dak Lak province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments, branches and units.

At the meeting, representatives of SOCODEVI and DID said that the BLOOM project is jointly implemented by the two organizations with funding from the Canadian Government. According to the plan, the project will be implemented in the two provinces of Dak Lak and Ha Giang; focusing on conserving natural habitats, conserving native flora and fauna; at the same time, supporting local communities such as: empowering ethnic minority women, helping communities adapt to climate change in accordance with local needs. The project is expected to directly support 5,000 people and indirectly support 25,000 people to better adapt to climate change; receive technical and production support or benefit from the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity of protected areas.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information about areas with characteristics suitable for the project criteria, which can be further studied and selected for implementation, such as information and introductions about Yok Don National Park, Chu Yang Sin National Park and Ea So Nature Reserve...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that after the initial information after the meeting; the two organizations will continue to pay attention and promote the project to be soon approved for implementation in the province; thereby, bringing a stable source of income to the poor, improving the livelihood conditions for women and ethnic minorities, contributing to the development of the local socio-economy as well as improving the quality of life of the people.
