According to Xinhua News Agency, on July 23, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) pledged to contribute 100 million USD to support development projects in countries affected by illegal immigration.

The announcement was made by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the International Conference on Migration and Development in Rome, Italy. Delegates focused on the challenges posed by irregular migration and stressed the urgent need for solutions to address its root causes. The conference also discussed strengthening international cooperation to protect migrants.
