Vietnam Airlines closed 2024 with outstanding highlights in production and business results. In particular, Vietnam Airlines' revenue and profit reached the highest level ever. Specifically, revenue reached nearly 113,000 billion VND, up 33.4% compared to 2023, profit reached more than 7,700 billion VND. Vietnam Airlines transported more than 22 million passengers in 2024, up 8.1% compared to 2023; cargo output reached 312.6 thousand tons, up 39% compared to 2023.
With a comprehensive strategic policy, Vietnam Airlines has overcome major challenges from fluctuations in the global economy and aviation market. Business efficiency has been improved, service quality continues to be a bright spot for the national airline with high customer satisfaction index in both domestic and international markets. The airline has received many prestigious awards, including the title of Top 10 Most Punctual Airlines in Asia recognized by Cirium (an aviation data analysis unit), along with the honor of the best premium economy service from AirlineRatings (a unit specializing in assessing the level of safety and quality of aviation services). Vietnam Airlines also made its mark with the awards: World 5-star airline in 2024 and Excellent 5-star airline in 2025 presented by APEX (a non-profit organization on passenger evaluation and experience).

In early 2025, Vietnam Airlines was honored by AirlineRatings as one of the top 20 best airlines in the world (World's Best Airlines) and for the second consecutive time received the award "Best Value Premium Economy". To achieve these titles, Vietnam Airlines has demonstrated its consistency and outstanding quality in every detail, bringing satisfaction to customers across its entire flight network, regardless of short or long-haul, economy or business class. Vietnam Airlines is also the only representative of Vietnam ranked by AirlineRatings in the top 25 safest airlines in the world in 2025.
For Vietnam Airlines in particular and the aviation industry in general, safety is always the number 1 priority. The airline is the first airline in Vietnam to be granted the IOSA operational safety certificate by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has continuously maintained this certificate since 2006. Vietnam Airlines has also successfully built a safety management system (SMS) since 2007, meeting the highest international safety standards.
Vietnam Airlines currently provides air transport services with nearly 100 domestic and international routes, connecting to more than 1,150 global destinations. With a modern fleet of more than 100 aircraft, Vietnam Airlines is the first airline in Asia-Pacific to simultaneously operate two new generation wide-body aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 and the Airbus A350-900, and is also the first and only unit in Vietnam to operate the Boeing B787-10 Dreamliner, the largest aircraft in Vietnam today. Focus on sustainable development strategy
In 2025, Vietnam Airlines Corporation will celebrate its 30th anniversary, a significant milestone in the corporation's journey of building and developing. This year, Vietnam Airlines plans to transport 25.4 million passengers and 336.3 thousand tons of cargo, with a revenue target of VND95,600 billion and pre-tax profit of VND2,176 billion. To achieve this goal, the corporation focuses on increasing the efficiency of its fleet, improving labor productivity and promoting digital transformation in operations, prioritizing the expansion of international markets and improving customer service quality.
The corporation will vigorously implement corporate restructuring tasks to optimize operational efficiency, while building a strong corporate culture that values safety and sustainable development... Opportunities arise from the strong recovery of the global tourism industry and international investment promotion activities. After the crisis period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for international travel has increased again, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam Airlines to expand its international flight network and restore interrupted routes.
Emphasizing that 2025 is the year that determines the results of implementing the targets for the 2020-2025 term, and is the year that creates the premise for the plans and goals of the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines, stated that Vietnam Airlines' motto for 2025 is breakthrough thinking - strong action - steady wings to reach far. With this motto, each unit and each individual employee of Vietnam Airlines needs to have breakthrough steps in thinking, boldly innovate in the way of doing things, and at the same time be more decisive in action.

Regarding future orientation, Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, shared that sustainable development is the focus of Vietnam Airlines' long-term strategy. The airline focuses on investing in a modern fleet of aircraft, aiming to own 169 aircraft by 2035, including 52 wide-body aircraft serving long-haul routes to Europe, the US, and India. The corporation also increases the use of environmentally friendly products, reduces emissions, and meets international standards on environmental protection. As the main force of the aviation industry, in 2025, Vietnam Airlines will open and re-operate many routes to help the country grow. Internationally alone, there will be 14 more routes to China, Japan, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Russia, Italy, etc.
Vietnam Airlines also always focuses on developing high-quality human resources, considering this an important foundation for long-term development and improving the management system, streamlining the apparatus to improve work productivity. Investing in people is identified by the corporation as investing in a sustainable future. The fulcrum for Vietnam Airlines to reach the world level comes from increasingly improved management capacity, along with extensive experience and the ability to compete with international airlines.
