After a direct flight lasting more than 7 hours from Hanoi, the Vietnam U.23 team arrived in Doha - Qatar at 12:35 on April 8 local time (16:35 Vietnam time), ready for the training session before the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Before that, as soon as they arrived at Hamad International Airport, the U.23 Vietnam team also received a thoughtful and enthusiastic welcome from the host country's Organizing Committee. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team were arranged a separate area to complete immigration procedures and were actively assisted by volunteers to collect luggage for transfer. Therefore, the whole team only took a total of more than 1 hour to complete all procedures at the airport and move to a 5-star hotel arranged by VFF in Doha, located about 20 minutes by bus from the airport. On April 7, the advance staff mobilized by VFF went ahead to work with the hotel and the host organization about the team's schedule.
After a delicious meal at the hotel, the players took the opportunity to rest and recover their physical condition. At 11 p.m. Vietnam time, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will begin their first training session in Doha.

The U.23 Vietnam team will not play their opening match against U.23 Kuwait until April 17. However, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has calculated that the team will arrive early, in order to have enough time for the players to get used to the climate conditions in Qatar, as well as adapt to the time difference.
In Qatar, coach Hoang Anh Tuan’s team will have nearly 10 days to prepare before playing their first match. During this time, U.23 Vietnam will also play a friendly match to compete with a quality opponent, U.23 Jordan, scheduled for April 10.
After the opening match against U.23 Kuwait, the U.23 Vietnam team will meet U.23 Malaysia (April 20) and U.23 Uzbekistan (April 23). Group D is considered to be suitable for coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team to achieve the goal of advancing. U.23 Uzbekistan is theoretically the strongest team and a direct competitor of U.23 Vietnam. However, Khuat Van Khang and his teammates need to deal well with U.23 Kuwait and U.23 Malaysia.
