HOT PROBLEM OF ATTACKING LINE
Possessing many excellent players (all of whom played very well at the AFF Cup 2024) and no shortage of money, Hanoi FC has been struggling since the beginning of the season. So much so that right after round 11, coach Le Duc Tuan had to leave the hot seat, giving way to former coach of the Vietnam national team Hoang Van Phuc. Not only changing the "general", the capital team also bought 3 new players at once, including striker Floro Daniel and midfielders Pierre Lamothe and Bobicanec Luka. Overseas Vietnamese player Pierre Lamothe, who played very well for Quang Nam FC in the 2023-2024 season, is expected to bring mobility to the midfield of Hanoi FC. Meanwhile, striker Floro Daniel (born in 1996, 1.84 m tall) is considered a good solution to help Hanoi improve their finishing.
On February 5, Hanoi FC will visit Thien Truong Stadium and it is unknown whether new head coach Hoang Van Phuc will be able to make a difference when the home team is still without Xuan Son. The big paradox of these two opponents is that if Hanoi has an extremely strong squad but still struggles, Nam Dinh is also struggling when their personnel temporarily lacks a super-excellent striker like Xuan Son. The defending champion scored 60 goals last season, but when Xuan Son was absent due to injury, he immediately failed to win 4 consecutive matches. The team from Thanh Nam was forced to immediately add Brazilian striker Brenner Marlos Oliveira (born in 1994, played in J-League 1, Thai League and Liga 1 Apertura in Peru) to replace Xuan Son. Nam Dinh also bought midfielder Romulo Machado (1996, Brazil) who played in Portugal and recalled fitness coach Mashiedee.
Floro Daniel (left cover) is expected to improve the attack of Hanoi Club.
Another paradox appears at Binh Duong Club. With Tien Linh, a strong candidate for the 2024 Vietnam Golden Ball title and also in the top 3 players with the most goals (7 goals) after 11 rounds of V-League 2024 - 2025, Binh Duong has only scored 14 goals since the beginning of the season. A few rounds ago, the team from Thu Dau Mot was forced to say goodbye to coach Hoang Anh Tuan, promoted assistant Nguyen Cong Manh to replace him and recently said goodbye to striker Wellington Nem. Newcomer Charly Malep was added to increase firepower for the attack.
LAST SHOPPING OPPORTUNITY FOR THE REMAINING GROUP
The teams that are competing for relegation are also shopping actively to try to escape as soon as possible. In just 1 month, the bottom team Da Nang changed their "general" twice, but the most recent time before the V-League returned, this club made a rather strange "move" by using coach Le Duc Tuan - a former member of the Hanoi team. Da Nang also added 2 foreign players including central defender Cassio and midfielder Emerson, borrowed young defender Duc Anh (from Hanoi Club) and goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung (from Ho Chi Minh City Club). New coach Le Duc Tuan is waiting for another foreign striker to solve the weakness of the attack (only scored 5 goals). HAGL recalled the old Washington Brandao and added 9 players of SEA Games age (born from 2003 onwards) to create opportunities for young players to contribute to the U.22 Vietnam team.
The second-to-last team in the rankings, Hai Phong, also replaced midfielder Bicou with striker Miche Naider Chery. Binh Dinh FC welcomed Colombian striker Rivas Gonzalez Rodrigo in the hope of creating a safe distance from the "red lantern" group. Meanwhile, SLNA's confidence is rising after defeating Binh Duong FC in round 11, the first victory of the season.
The teams will have one last chance to evaluate foreign players before finalizing the list according to the tournament organizers' deadline of February 12.
QUANG NAM CLUB IS RETURNED TO HOME IN THE MEANING OF IT
Quang Nam FC will open the new spring, welcoming Binh Duong FC on February 9 in round 12 at the newly renovated Tam Ky Stadium. Playing in front of home fans after nearly 2 seasons of renting Hoa Xuan Stadium will give coach Van Sy Son and his team more strength, aiming for the goal of staying in the league soon.
