TPO - According to Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, the Party Committee of the City People's Committee will submit to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee a plan to exempt/reduce ticket prices during the initial operation of metro line 1 to create a habit of use for people.
On February 25, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced that it had just communicated the conclusion of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai at the first meeting of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for key projects and works of the city.
Accordingly, Mr. Phan Van Mai (Head of the Steering Committee) assigned departments, branches, localities, and investors to carry out a number of specific tasks to speed up the progress of key projects and works.
Regarding the Ring Road 2 Construction Project (section 1 and section 2), the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Thu Duc City People's Committee to urgently develop a specific plan, conduct an inventory to accurately determine the cost of compensation for site clearance, and focus on completing it to start construction in 2024.
Regarding the Ring Road 3 Construction Project, Chairman Phan Van Mai requested to focus on completing the handover of the construction site in the first quarter of 2024. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinates with the Project Management Board for investment in construction of traffic works and related units to work with localities related to the source of sand for filling and advise the City People's Committee to report and propose to the Prime Minister for direction and resolution.
For the Ring Road 4 Construction Project, the Department of Transport must urgently complete the investment plan, advise the City People's Committee on specific implementation methods as a basis for submitting to central ministries and branches for investment policy in June 2024.
Regarding the metro line 1 project (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien), the head of the Ho Chi Minh City government assigned the Urban Railway Management Board to specifically report on the operation and commercial exploitation plan next July.

Closing the operating deadline of 3 gateway hospitals
Regarding the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project, the Department of Planning and Investment proactively worked with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to report to the Inter-sectoral Appraisal Council to submit to the competent authority for decision on the project investment policy. At the same time, the Department proposed to the City People's Committee a form of selecting domestic investors to implement the project.
For the project of Dredging, improving the environment, and constructing infrastructure of Xuyen Tam canal (from Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal to Vam Thuat river), the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the investor to proactively coordinate with the People's Committees of Go Vap and Binh Thanh districts to complete the handover of the project construction site in the first quarter (in Go Vap district) and in 2024 (in Binh Thanh district).
Regarding the three gateway hospitals of the city (Cu Chi Regional General Hospital, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital and Thu Duc Regional General Hospital), Chairman Phan Van Mai assigned the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works (Management Board) to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to urgently speed up the implementation of investment procedures related to the procurement of medical equipment in order to put these hospitals into operation by December 2024 at the latest.
