To reduce traffic congestion and avoid overloading the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway during peak times in 2009, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the project to upgrade National Highway 1, Ngoc Hoi - Van Dien section, 4.8 km long. |

The project will expand and upgrade the road surface of National Highway 1 from 2 to 4 lanes in each direction in the direction of Thuong Tin - Van Dien and was assigned to the Department of Transport, then from 2018, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board took over and continued to implement with a budget of 887 billion VND.
