Inauguration ceremony of the 15/5 Special Education School this morning, November 17
The school inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Truong Quoc Lam, Secretary of District Party Committee, District 11; Mr. Nguyen Tran Binh, Chairman of District 11 People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Trong Hieu, Head of District 11 Education and Training Department and many delegates.
Ms. Tran Thi Hao, Principal of the 15/5 Special Education School, said that the inauguration of the new school marked the determination and efforts of the education sector in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City in general, and the attention and care for special education in District 11 by all levels and sectors.
Ms. Tran Thi Hao said that the 15/5 Special Education School, formerly known as the School for Disabled Children in District 11, was established in 1989 and managed by the Red Cross Society of District 11. In 1997, the school was transferred to the Department of Education and Training of District 11 for management. After many name changes, the school was officially named the 15/5 Special Education School. This is a public educational institution for students in need of special education (children with visual impairments, hearing impairments, autistic children, children with motor disorders, children with developmental delays, etc.).

The newly inaugurated 15/5 Special Education School is spacious and modern.
Ms. Tran Thi Hao, Principal of the school (right cover), was moved when the new school for special needs children was inaugurated.
The old 15/5 Special Education School is located inside a villa built before 1975. Many items are degraded, the facilities are lacking, and it does not attract the attention of parents in the area.
The new school inaugurated today has a total area of 1,200 m2 , including 1 ground floor, 3 upper floors with 9 spacious classrooms, which can serve teaching and learning, taking care of 90 students, ensuring 100% of them study 2 sessions/day. Currently, the number of students studying at the school is 69, organized into 7 classes. The students study the framework program for specialized students and some classes study some subjects in the 2018 General Education Program.
The school has many functional rooms, including a motor center room, an early intervention room, a personal teaching room, and computer classrooms, elective subjects, physical education, and art education, ensuring the best teaching and care for special students.

Speaking at the school inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of District 11, said that recently many new schools have been built and repaired to ensure spaciousness and modernity, and have been inaugurated in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City. This ensures a place for children in the area and children who need special education. Mr. Binh believes that with the newly inaugurated school, the care and special education for young children will be more convenient and effective.
