Toyota Vietnam sets record with 700,000 cars produced

On March 19, the 700,000th vehicle production ceremony took place at Toyota Vinh Phuc factory, an impressive milestone ahead of the 30th anniversary of presence in Vietnam.

Since its operation in 1996, Toyota Vietnam factory in Vinh Phuc province has continuously improved both quality and quantity. The average production output has increased from 2 cars/day, equivalent to 212 cars/year, to over 108 cars/day, equivalent to about 27,000 cars/year. In May 1999, Toyota was the first automobile manufacturer in Vietnam to be granted ISO 14001 certification for the Environmental Management System at the factory and has continuously maintained and improved the system to this day.

In addition, Toyota Vietnam also became the first automobile manufacturer to have a complete production process including 5 stages: stamping, welding, painting, assembly and quality control when it officially put the stamping workshop into operation in 2003.

Currently, Toyota Vietnam factory is producing and assembling 05 car models including Vios, Innova, Fortuner, Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio. Of which, Vios, Veloz Cross are often in the top 10 best-selling cars in the market, contributing to Toyota's success in the Vietnamese market. On the eve of its 30th anniversary, the Japanese car company continues to set a record as the first brand in Vietnam to reach a total production output of 700,000 vehicles.

Toyota's successes have contributed significantly to the development of Vietnam's socio-economy. In addition to increasing the rate of product localization, Toyota has also implemented a project to support improvements for domestic enterprises in the field of supporting industries. To date, the Japanese automaker has paved the way for 13 purely Vietnamese suppliers to participate in the supply chain, with the total localized components reaching nearly 1,000 products of all kinds. In addition, Toyota Vietnam has created jobs for more than 1,500 employees. Thanks to these efforts, Toyota Vietnam has become the only manufacturing company outside of Japan to receive the Good Factory 2024 award from the Japan Management Association.

In addition to the successes in the manufacturing sector, the total number of vehicles using Toyota's genuine services has reached 20 million, the company also promises to reach the sales milestone of 1 million vehicles and become the first brand in Vietnam to achieve this milestone. Currently, Toyota has developed a system of 86 dealers, dealer branches and authorized service stations covering 49 provinces and cities nationwide.

In addition, Toyota Vietnam also continues to strive to become a good citizen in the local community through positive contributions in the fields of Traffic Safety, Environment, Education & Human Resource Development, and Social Culture. Towards the 30th anniversary of its establishment, Toyota will continue to bring customers outstanding experiences, beyond expectations, while contributing to the realization of the vision of "Bringing happiness to everyone".
