General Secretary To Lam receives business delegation from the US Business Council

At the meeting, the General Secretary welcomed the USABC business delegation to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and the 2nd anniversary of upgrading relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The General Secretary highly appreciated the role and practical contributions of the US business community in general and USABC businesses in particular in promoting and enhancing cooperation, investment and business between Vietnam and the US.

The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam considers the US a partner of strategic importance, in which economic, trade, investment, and scientific and technological cooperation continue to be the foundation and driving force for promoting bilateral relations; and wishes to continue to work with the US to develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in an increasingly substantive and in-depth manner, including continuing to promote stable economic-trade-investment cooperation for the benefit of the people and businesses of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and prosperous development in the region and the world.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the development of Vietnam-US relations has a positive impact on the development of US relations with ASEAN, and suggested that USABC accompany ASEAN countries to promote solidarity, cooperation, development and prosperity of ASEAN, a large market with much potential and also an opportunity for businesses of countries, including the US.

The General Secretary shared that in order to realize the country's two strategic goals: the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding (2030) and the 100th anniversary of the country's founding (2045), Vietnam is actively and synchronously implementing reforms and perfecting institutions and infrastructure, streamlining the apparatus for effective, efficient and effective operations, and reforming administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including American enterprises, to invest and do business effectively in Vietnam.

Emphasizing the importance of science and technology for Vietnam's development, General Secretary To Lam asked US businesses to continue to pay attention, increase and expand investment in Vietnam, especially in areas where the US has strengths and Vietnam has demand such as emerging technology, digital economy, green transformation, renewable energy, logistics, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council Ted Osius and representatives of US businesses sincerely thanked and expressed their honor that the General Secretary spent time receiving the delegation; and congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements in recent years.

Mr. Ted Osius and representatives of the corporations affirmed their efforts to contribute to the development of Vietnam - US relations; expressed gratitude for the attention and close guidance of Vietnamese senior leaders in recent times; believed that under the leadership and strategic vision of General Secretary To Lam and Vietnamese leaders, Vietnam will achieve the set development goals; affirmed that they will continue to support and accompany Vietnam to achieve development goals in the new period.
