The meeting was held in a direct and online format between the Government headquarters and the provinces and centrally-run cities that have important national projects and key works in the transport sector.

Attending the meeting were members of the Steering Committee who are ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies; chairmen of provincial and municipal People's Committees; representatives of state-owned economic groups, investors, consulting units, and construction contractors.

Opening the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that after the 6th meeting of the Steering Committee (July 13, 2023), ministries, branches and localities will proactively coordinate and make efforts to implement assigned tasks; focus on overcoming difficulties, especially in compensation, support, resettlement, and the provision of common construction material mines, speeding up investment preparation and project implementation.

However, the implementation of important national and key projects of the Transport sector needs to be "faster, faster", successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on 3 strategic breakthroughs, the Politburo's resolutions on socio-economic development of 6 regions, meeting people's expectations, creating inter-regional connections for development, contributing to promoting public investment.

The Prime Minister requested efforts to complete the "backbone" highway system from North to South, from East to West and connect regions across the country by the end of the 13th Party Congress term, creating new development space and jobs and livelihoods for people.

To achieve the above goals and tasks, the Prime Minister directed members of the Steering Committee, leaders of ministries, branches and localities to focus on discussing and assessing the situation, especially pointing out difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings; proposing tasks and solutions to promote the implementation of projects to ensure progress, quality, safety and stability of people's lives, especially in terms of site clearance, meeting the demand for common construction materials, etc., in the spirit of resolving difficulties and obstacles; resolving difficulties at any level; resolving difficulties at that level, "not saying no, not saying difficult, not saying yes but not doing", "what is said is done, what is committed must be done, what is done must have practical results".
