Asia

VNA. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit to Vietnam from December 11-12 is like planting trees and taking care of flowers, requiring us to regularly fertilize and water them, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sok Chenda Sophea.

ANTARA. Bank Indonesia (BI) and Bank of Korea (BOK) reached an important agreement to promote the use of local currency (LCT) in bilateral financial and economic transactions from 2024.

TEMPO. Indonesian authorities have put airports on high alert to prevent the entry of Covid-19 amid a surge in cases in Singapore.

BERNAMA. The Malaysian and French Ministries of Defence issued a Joint Statement highlighting the significance and important results achieved during the visit to Malaysia by French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu.

YONHAP. ​​President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his impression of the 50 years of achievements between Korea and India (1973-2023) and wanted to strengthen the special strategic partnership with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

YONHAP. ​​South Korea plans to boost cooperation with the Netherlands, the United States and Japan in the semiconductor sector, President Yoon Suk Yeol told reporters ahead of his visit to the Netherlands from December 12-13.

KOREA TIMES. South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo convened a conference on tourism export innovation strategy in Gwangju city, with the goal of attracting more than 20 million foreign tourists by 2024.

IRNA. Iran unveils attack drones equipped with air-to-air missiles, with an operating range of up to 1,000 km.

REUTERS. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for an immediate end to the conflict in Gaza and an international peace conference to reach a lasting political solution leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

FRANCE 24. In a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Emmanuel Macron urged the opening of the Kerem Shalom crossing to transport relief goods into Gaza.

ANADOLU. Qatar will continue mediation efforts to promote a new ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas Islamist movement in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said.

Europe

REUTERS. In a letter to European Council President Charles Michel, the Prime Ministers of four EU member states, Spain, Ireland, Belgium and Malta, hope that the bloc's leaders meeting next week will discuss the situation in Gaza and jointly call for a lasting humanitarian ceasefire.

TASS. Russia will continue to increase political pressure to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a video conference within the framework of the Doha Forum.

DW. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz pledged to continue providing financial and military support to Ukraine, stressing that decisions would be made to facilitate Berlin's continued assistance to Kiev.

ANSA. At least three elderly people died in a fire that broke out overnight at the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital in the town of Tivoli near Rome.

MERCO PRESS. With the help of Europol, Italian police dismantled an organized crime ring and arrested four individuals accused of counterfeiting Euro coins.

BBC. The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating the partnership between technology giant Microsoft and artificial intelligence startup OpenAI.

SWISS INFO. The Swiss Federal Council has admitted that thousands of children may have been illegally adopted abroad and brought to Switzerland between 1970 and 1990.

EURO NEWS. After 36 hours of discussion, EU member states and parliamentarians have reached an agreement on the first comprehensive regulation to govern artificial intelligence (AI).

America

NBC NEWS. The United States supports Argentine President-elect Javier Milei in his negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the development of the lithium sector, according to US President Joe Biden's advisor and senior director for the Western Hemisphere at the White House National Security Council - Mr. Juan Gonzalez.

PRENSA LATINA. The Cuban government has denounced a series of plans to entice its citizens to commit acts that disrupt security and order in the country at the end of the year.

CBC. The Canadian government announced a new federal policy that requires the oil and gas industry to cut emissions by more than a third within seven years or buy offset credits.

AP. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his Guyanese counterpart Irfaan Ali will meet on December 14 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to discuss the dispute over the Essequibo territory.

X. Colombian President Gustavo Petro asked Venezuela and Guyana to ease tensions in the territorial dispute in the Essequibo region and proposed that the South American countries form a mediation group.

UN NEWS. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern over the limited progress in dialogue in Haiti to restore the country's democratic institutions.

AGN. The Guatemalan government announced that the electricity grid coverage rate has now reached 90.17% , higher than the target previously set by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM).

Africa

EGYPT NEWS. Polling stations officially opened for some 67 million voters in Egypt's three-day presidential election.

XINHUA. Kenyan President William Ruto called for removing bottlenecks that are hindering the growth of youth-led businesses on the continent, exacerbating poverty and unemployment.

AFRICA NEWS. During the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Equatorial Guinea, the two sides signed a number of cooperation agreements related to the implementation of the first phase of a regional center that will promote Belarusian goods to the markets of Central and West Africa.

FAO. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has signed a $43.8 million agreement to implement a project to reduce flood risks and mitigate drought in Somalia.

AFRICA NEWS. The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) has completed its withdrawal , ending its presence in the West African country.

XINHUA. Over the past 11 months, Tunisia has prevented more than 69,000 illegal immigrants from trying to reach Italy by sea from different countries in the region.

Oceania

ABC. Australia will triple the current home purchase fee for foreign buyers in a bid to increase the supply of affordable housing in the Oceania nation.

CNN. A heatwave has gripped Australia's east coast, pushing temperatures in Sydney, New South Wales, to 38.9 degrees Celsius - the highest since November 2020.
