The Washington Post quoted a senior US official as saying that the Trump administration is considering halting all current military aid shipments to Ukraine after a heated argument in the Oval Office on February 28.

The decision to halt military aid to Kiev will affect billions of dollars worth of radars, vehicles, ammunition and missiles currently awaiting delivery to Ukraine, the report said.

The Wall Street Journal also quoted a senior US administration official as saying that President Trump had asked national security staff to consider the possibility that Washington could temporarily or permanently stop ongoing arms transfers to Ukraine.

A meeting between President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky ended without any agreement on mineral cooperation, escalating into a bitter dispute over Washington's aid to Kiev and the terms of a peace deal with Russia.

Mr. Trump then ordered US officials to ask the Ukrainian delegation to leave the White House, despite protests from Kiev.

President Zelensky has repeatedly called on the US to continue providing weapons aid as a security measure, giving Ukraine a stronger position in future peace negotiations with Russia.

On March 1, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry A. Medvedev said that Moscow is ready to be flexible in negotiations on Ukraine. However, this flexibility must be consistent with the Russian constitution and the situation on the ground.

According to RIA Novosti news agency, Mr. Medvedev emphasized that Russia is ready to discuss resolving the Ukraine crisis, but only with "those parties ready for dialogue".

Meanwhile, TASS news agency quoted the same day's announcement from the Russian Defense Ministry saying that the country had gained control of the Burlatske and Skudne settlements in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.
