Giving a quick report on the situation of the Delegation, Mr. Tang Phuoc Loc - Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that the program of visiting and learning from the experiences of the Delegation of Prestigious People is an activity following the success of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. The Delegation consists of 32 typical Prestigious People delegates, representing more than 1,000 Prestigious People in the ethnic minority areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Tang Phuoc Loc shared that in 2024, the ethnic work of Ho Chi Minh City continues to receive close attention and leadership from the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, and local Party Committees and authorities. Ethnic policies, the work of preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity, the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities are of interest; policies and regimes are fully implemented; the work of caring for poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances on holidays and traditional New Year is well implemented...

Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Y Vinh Tor presented souvenirs from the Committee for Ethnic Minorities to delegates.

Along with general policies for ethnic minority areas nationwide, in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh City Ethnic Committee has also advised the City People's Committee to promulgate and implement specific ethnic policies covering the fields of education, health care; preserving the culture, language, and writing of the Cham, Chinese, Khmer, etc. in the ethnic minority areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City recognized 1,183 Prestigious People among ethnic minorities. Policies for Prestigious People in Ho Chi Minh City are always interested, actively and effectively implemented. Thereby, Prestigious People are always active, making efforts in all activities, strongly promoting their role in the community.

Speaking and sharing their thoughts and aspirations at the meeting, the delegates expressed their joy at being able to visit the capital Hanoi and being welcomed by the leaders of the Committee at the Headquarters of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities. The delegates hoped that the Party, Government and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities would continue to pay more attention to policies for prestigious people; policies to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups; and to pay attention to health and education policies... in the ethnic minority areas of the City.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Y Vinh Tor acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the Prestigious People in the past time to the ethnic work in the locality and suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Ethnic Committee continue to advise, have many creative solutions and methods, and increase resources to effectively implement policies for Prestigious People. Thereby, promoting the role and responsibility of Prestigious People at the grassroots level; contributing with local authorities to effectively implement ethnic programs and policies, gradually improving the quality of life of ethnic people.

Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Y Vinh Tor hopes that the prestigious person will continue to make efforts and promote his role more strongly, ready to join the people of all ethnic groups in the area in entering a new era of more development and success.
