Message from the President of Bulgaria to future diplomats of Vietnam

On November 26, continuing his visit to Vietnam, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev visited and spoke at the Diplomatic Academy, sending many messages to future diplomats.
The Bulgarian President stressed that the relations between the countries are based on trust in common values. The President reviewed the 75-year history of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Vietnam. The friendly relations between the two countries have been demonstrated by mutual trust and solidarity. Bulgaria was one of the first countries to recognize Vietnam's independence, and during difficult historical periods, Bulgaria supported the Vietnamese people. Tens of thousands of Vietnamese people have studied and worked in Bulgaria, contributing to promoting the relations between the two countries.

President Rumen Radev emphasized the importance of the Vietnam-Bulgaria relationship to the region, Vietnam is a bridge between Bulgaria and ASEAN, Bulgaria is a bridge between Vietnam and the European Union. The two countries have built legal frameworks and cooperation mechanisms in many areas such as economy, trade, defense, education, security, etc. President Rumen Radev especially emphasized that economic and trade relations are an important part of the bilateral relationship. The upcoming organization of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Business Forum in Ho Chi Minh City aims to strengthen economic cooperation, showing the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths and needs. Mr. Rumen Radev also mentioned the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of digital transformation, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

In the field of education, President Rumen Radev emphasized the tradition of cooperation between the two countries, with more than 3,600 engineers, scientists and 30,000 skilled workers in many fields of Vietnam having studied and trained in Bulgaria. Many people who were students in Bulgaria after returning home have made many contributions to the development of their homeland, becoming important leaders of Vietnam. Sharing with future diplomats of Vietnam, the President said: This is not only a profession but also the most powerful and effective tool to protect the interests of each country. History has shown that skillful diplomacy helps prevent conflicts and strengthen peace and stability. “Becoming a good diplomat is the best way to serve the country, protect the interests of the people and continue the progress and international integration of Vietnam. That is why I am here, because I want to see the development of relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria in the next stage,” President Rumen Radev said.

Today, the Bulgarian President also visited Hai Phong City, visited Lan Ha Bay, Vinfast Hai Phong Automobile Factory, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port... Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau informed the President and the delegation about Hai Phong's achievements in socio-economic development as well as the friendly and cooperative relations between the city and Bulgarian localities. The Bulgarian business delegation accompanying the President to Hai Phong included dozens of enterprises in the fields of information technology, high technology, seaports... visiting and surveying some economic establishments of the city. The Bulgarian President hopes that Hai Phong will strengthen and promote cooperation with ministries, branches and localities of Bulgaria in areas of mutual interest and strength such as electric car development, artificial intelligence, education and training, tourism... contributing to the common achievements of Vietnam - Bulgaria relations.
