Strengthening cooperation to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border

(QBĐT) - Within the framework of the activities of the 4th Vietnam-Laos Border Guard Young Officer Exchange Program in 2025, on the afternoon of March 21, in Dong Hoi City, a seminar and exchange between Vietnam-Laos Border Guard Young Officers took place with the theme "Strengthening cooperation to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border".

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Border Guard, Head of the delegation of young officers of the Vietnam Border Guard; Colonel Dao-cay Lot-ly-van, Deputy Political Commissar, Chief of Political Affairs of the Lao Border Guard, Head of the delegation of young officers of the Lao Border Guard co-chaired the discussion. Attending were representatives of the leadership of the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Provincial Youth Union.

The young officers of Laos and Vietnam are the next generation to inherit the revolutionary career of the armed forces of the two countries, playing a very important role in preserving, nurturing and developing the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Speaking at the seminar, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized that the exchange of young officers of the Vietnam-Laos Border Guard demonstrates the great concern and trust of the leaders of the two forces for the young generation, creating opportunities for the young generation of the two forces to meet, exchange and share experiences; at the same time, reviewing the glorious, heroic, devoted and loyal tradition of the Vietnam-Laos relationship.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai believes that the young officers are the vanguard force, always taking the lead in implementing missions, with great ambitions and a creative spirit, pure international solidarity will continuously cultivate, develop and deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to become increasingly deeper, more substantial and effective.

Giving gifts to students on both sides of the border.

At the seminar, young officers of the Vietnam and Laos Border Guards presented papers, affirming that the coordination of activities between the young officers of the two countries has achieved many very encouraging results. Notably, they regularly grasped the situation, increased information exchange on political security, order and social safety in the border areas of the two countries; coordinated and maintained strict and serious implementation of the Agreement on the Regulations on Management of Land Borders and Land Border Gates between the two countries.

In addition, the Border Guard forces of the two countries have strengthened coordination in border management and protection, ensuring political security, order and social safety in border areas; actively participated in the movement to denounce crimes, protect and maintain political security, order and social safety on both sides of the border, contributing to further enhancing the solidarity and special bond between the young officers of the Vietnam-Laos Border Guard.

As part of the Vietnam-Laos Border Guard Young Officers Exchange, on March 20 and 21, meaningful and practical activities took place in Quang Binh province, such as: Organizing propaganda and dissemination of laws to people in border areas and giving 40 gifts to disadvantaged students on both sides of the border, taking place in Dan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa); volleyball and badminton exchanges at Quang Binh University Gymnasium; organizing youth friendship tree planting at the Training-Mobile Battalion (Provincial Border Guard).

From March 22-24, young officers of the Vietnam-Laos Border Guard will offer incense and flowers at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua (Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach) and visit a number of cultural and historical relics and scenic spots in the province.
