Dam Rong launches Organic Cocoa Cooperative

(LĐ online) - On the evening of March 14, at Huong Can Garden, Da Long commune (Dam Rong), the People's Committee of Dam Rong district held the launching ceremony of Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative.

Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Khong Huu Kien - Vice Chairman of the District People's Council; Lieng Hot Ha Hai - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee; Nguyen Van Chinh - Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Environment.

On the OCA side, the cooperative's partners in developing organic cocoa locally include Mr. Nozawa Hiroki - Director of OCA Japan Company; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - Director of OCA Vietnam - Japan Company in Vietnam; Mr. Le Van Quang - Director of Cooperative in Ba Ria Vung Tau Agricultural Trade and Services.

Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Lan - Director of Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative approved the decision to establish the cooperative.

At the ceremony, the decision to establish Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative was approved. Accordingly, the Cooperative has 7 members, operating in the field of production, preliminary processing of cocoa bean products, providing plant varieties, agricultural materials... for farmers in the district. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong holds the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, 2 directors including Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Lan and Lieng Jrang K'Sinh.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative, emphasized: With the aspiration and spiritual motivation to rise up with the whole country to enter a new era, we cooperated together to launch Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative.

Dam Rong is a land with great potential for agricultural production and tourism; especially fruit trees such as durian, coffee, etc., including cocoa. Cocoa trees here are very suitable under the cashew canopy; in line with the District Party Committee's policy on renovating mixed gardens, easy to care for, high yield and have a very special delicious taste, very different from other places.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nozawa Hiroki - OCA Japan briefly talked about the orientations and cooperation between OCA and Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative. Mr. Nozawa Hiroki affirmed: Dam Rong is a district with potential for agricultural development, producing agricultural products, especially cocoa, which is really delicious. This area has fertile land and climate conditions with seasonal temperature differences, very suitable for developing a variety of agricultural crops.

Currently, OCA has been promoting cocoa research and development. OCA has cooperated with the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Information and Engineering, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition of Shizuoka University. Taking advantage of the expertise and technology of each department and faculty of each university, OCA conducts research to improve the efficiency and quality of cocoa cultivation. At the same time, it cooperates with Sanei Hytechs Company to promote mechanization and information technology of cocoa farms, which both reduces labor and contributes to increasing productivity.

For the Dam Rong Organic Cocoa Cooperative, OCA will also focus on supporting education and human resource development, IT to realize smart agriculture; cooperate in providing IT skills training programs, smart agriculture for local youth and farmers to create opportunities to acquire the latest technology. OCA will work with the Organic Cocoa Cooperative to focus on developing agricultural human resources in Dam Rong with Japanese agricultural experience and technology; support scholarships and study abroad programs for those who want to study in Japan to help students learn advanced agricultural techniques and technology at elite educational institutions in Japan and abroad, gain broader vision and specialized knowledge; at the same time develop human resources that can contribute to the development of the local cocoa industry.

The District Party Committee has a Resolution on renovating mixed gardens and according to statistics, in the area of ​​3 communes in Dam Ron area, there are over 200 hectares of mixed gardens.
