On the morning of August 8, the Coast Guard Command held the opening ceremony of the 2023 Sports Festival to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Coast Guard's Traditional Day (August 28, 1998 / August 28, 2023). Attending the Sports Festival were Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard; Chief of the Coast Guard Command; representatives of the Military Training Department (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army); Nam Tu Liem District Military Command; representatives of Coast Guard functional agencies and athlete delegations participating in the Sports Festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Sports Festival, Major General Le Quang Dao requested the Organizing Committee and the Referee Team to maintain and strictly implement the regulations for organizing the tournament; organize the competition closely and scientifically to achieve good results, ensuring safety before, during and after the Sports Festival. The athletes participated in the competition with a spirit of solidarity and determination, strictly complying with military discipline, tournament regulations, and regulations of the Sports Festival...

With the participation of nearly 600 athletes and coaches from agencies and units under the Coast Guard Command. The sports festival organized competitions in 6 events, including: Men's volleyball, women's volleyball, table tennis, tennis, badminton and swimming. These are competitions that comprehensively demonstrate the physical qualities of "speed, strength, endurance, and agility" of each athlete.

The sports festival is also an opportunity for agencies and units in the entire force to assess the quality of training, physical training and sports activities in the units. Thereby, there is a plan to improve professional qualifications and competition experience to build a team of Coast Guard officers and soldiers with good health and endurance, contributing to the successful implementation of assigned tasks.
