According to the plan of Thu Duc City People's Committee, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, the entrance exam for grade 6 is expected to be conducted at the same time as the entrance exam for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted on July 4. The expected announcement of results is July 15.
Thus, up to this point, there are 2 schools in Ho Chi Minh City that will conduct the survey for grade 6: Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School (Thu Duc City) and Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School (District 1).
Priority admission is given to students in the area who have completed primary school with a final exam score of 9 or higher in each subject of Vietnamese and Math, with gifted skills, foreign language proficiency, and family circumstances.
Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School is a school that follows the model of "advanced, internationally integrated school". If students are not admitted to grade 6 of the school, they will still be arranged to study in grade 6 of other secondary schools according to the regulations of the Steering Committee for Primary Admissions.
This year, Thu Duc City is piloting the application of Geographic Information System (GIS map) in primary school admissions. In which, students are arranged to study at schools near their residence; it is possible to consider arranging inter-ward study places according to administrative boundaries.
