(Dan Tri) - On February 23, Hanoi National University will open the registration portal for the 2025 competency assessment exam for candidates. Learning from last year's experience, Hanoi National University has just issued recommendations to avoid system "collapse".
According to the Testing Center (Hanoi National University), to limit local network congestion, candidates should fully declare their exam registration information before February 22.
From February 23 to March 2, candidates can only log in on 1 device (phone, computer...) to choose the exam session. If using a second device, the registered account will be kicked out of the system. Candidates cannot choose the exam session, increasing network congestion.
After successfully selecting the exam session, log out of the registration account and return to pay the fee later. The fee must be paid 1 hour after and before 96 hours after successfully selecting the exam session. After 96 hours, if the candidate does not pay the fee, the exam session will be automatically canceled and cannot be restored.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao (Testing Center - Hanoi National University), to reduce local congestion like last year, the school has adjusted the information technology infrastructure, upgraded the transmission system, rented cloud storage systems from large units and suppliers to ensure the infrastructure can meet about 200,000 registrations.
"In 2024, statistics show that at its peak, there were about 230,000 accounts registering for the competency assessment exam at the same time, over 5 million transactions in the same second, which means a huge number of accesses and queries. We are trying to make the system meet this number, even larger," said Mr. Thao.
However, according to Mr. Thao, no matter how hard we try to provide infrastructure, if users do not understand, local network congestion can still occur. The time for candidates to register for an account, provide full information from full name, date of birth, gender, citizen identification number, address, etc. is very long.
So, if you complete these things before registering for the exam on February 23, you can minimize the congestion. If you complete the application on the day of registration, it may take you at least 15-20 minutes or longer.
During that time, the number of visits was very large, over 200,000 registrations. The more students searched and created profiles during this time, the more the network was congested, leading to delays in exam registration opportunities.
In particular, Hanoi National University also noted that candidates only have one account and can only access it on one device, whether it is a computer or a phone.

"In fact, in recent years, many people, because they were worried about not being able to choose a contestant, asked their parents, relatives, and friends to log in to their accounts and register on 5-6 computers at the same time. However, when registering to access the first account using a device, all other accounts, even if they had logged in, were pushed out of the system.
"Thus, the exam I wanted to register for may be pushed out by the account logged in on my friend's computer, eventually causing network congestion and making it impossible to register," said Mr. Thao.
According to this expert's advice, students should choose a device in advance, determine the exam session and location in advance so that on the day, they can complete the registration within just a few seconds.
This not only ensures you get a spot in your exam, but also reduces network congestion and increases the chances of others getting in.
Sharing more before the exam day, Professor Nguyen Tien Thao said that, in addition to the careful review journey in the past time, before and during the exam, students should be comfortable and not be stressed.
No matter what exam, if you are not mentally prepared, do not prepare good knowledge and skills, it will be difficult to achieve high results.

In particular, the competency assessment test is a process-based assessment, which means it does not only focus on a certain content, knowledge, or part, but also the knowledge of grades 10, 11, and 12. In particular, there are interdisciplinary sections between subjects, which are relatively comprehensive assessments.
The Hanoi National University HSA 2025 Aptitude Assessment Test is organized in 6 rounds, the registration schedule for the 2025 Hanoi Aptitude Assessment Test takes place from March to June.
The exam fee from 2025 is 600,000 VND/candidate/exam, an increase of 100,000 VND/exam compared to last year.
Candidates can choose a second exam session from March 3 if there are still seats available. Candidates who have successfully selected an exam session but want to cancel can only register for a new exam session 60 minutes after the cancellation. Candidates who cancel for the second time can only register for a new exam session 4 days after the cancellation. Similarly, for the third time, candidates can only register for a new exam session 7 days after the cancellation.
Last year, a series of candidates were restless because the registration portal for the Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam collapsed, and the network congestion had not ended until after 11am that same day.
VNU Examination Center must recommend candidates to wait in line to register or return to register later.
