DNVN - Thanks to the deployment of Amazon Q Developer service, Techcombank has optimized work efficiency for more than 600 programmers, promoted creativity and improved customer experience.
Amazon Q Developer, powered by Amazon Bedrock Platform Services, is a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) assistant for developers that helps them understand, build, scale, and operate AWS applications quickly and easily. When integrated into an IDE, it is a powerful tool for software development, including code completion, new code generation, security scanning, code upgrades, and optimization.
The initial pilot of Amazon Q Developer with 50 developers yielded positive results, with internal team satisfaction reaching 80%, demonstrating a clear positive impact on productivity and development quality. As a result, the bank has scaled the deployment of the tool to more than 600 developers. Since then, the development team has created more than 135,000 lines of code, resulting in a 33.5% feature adoption rate and a 90.5% documentation adoption rate.
The tool also helps perform security scans on over 102,000 lines of Java/C code, identifying over 15,000 reports and issues, contributing to improving programming quality and strengthening security standards.
Techcombank has accelerated the development cycle of its digital banking application Techcombank Mobile thanks to the Amazon Q Developer application. With outstanding features such as Code Suggestions, Fix and Explain Code and AI Commit Message, this AI assistant has helped the bank shorten the feature development time and save 572 man-days compared to the manual development process in just 3 months, contributing to increasing the overall productivity of the entire department by 30%. These improvements have helped Techcombank quickly respond to customer needs, bringing a personalized and seamless digital banking experience to its 15.4 million customers.
With these impressive results, Techcombank plans to expand the deployment of Amazon Q Developer to its entire development team in 2025, while also aiming to apply new use cases such as automating source code refactoring and debugging application logic. This move is also part of Techcombank’s overall “Cloud-First” strategy, helping the bank maintain its pioneering position in the digital transformation journey. Since 2022, Techcombank has been working closely with AWS to modernize its infrastructure, enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities, and develop advanced digital banking solutions.
