On June 7, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution 24-NQ/TW dated April 16, 2018 of the Politburo on Vietnam's National Defense Strategy.
After 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 24, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee and Command have gradually been built up to be strong in politics and organization; performed well the core and specialized role in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; promoted the combined strength of all levels, sectors and people in performing the task of building and protecting national border sovereignty and security, maintaining security and order in border areas. In addition, directing border posts to advise localities to build and consolidate political bases, maintain national defense and security in 26 strong border communes, wards and towns; effectively participated in economic, cultural and social development programs and projects; participated in defense area drills at all levels with good results. Organize talks, exchange situations, coordinate joint patrols, bilateral patrols to manage and protect borders, prevent crimes, build peaceful, friendly borders, and develop together...
The Provincial Party Committee and Border Guard also held a conference to summarize 15 years of implementing Directive No. 154 dated April 9, 2008 of the Central Military Party Committee Standing Committee on continuing to innovate and strengthen propaganda work, especially in the new period. Accordingly, over the past 15 years, the Provincial Party Committee and Border Guard Command and Party committees and commanders of units have focused on leading, directing and implementing seriously and synchronously. Party committees and commanders of units in the Provincial Border Guard have deployed many effective policies and solutions on propaganda work. Thereby, contributing significantly to preventing and defeating all sabotage plots of hostile forces, maintaining political stability in the area; strengthening national defense and security, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
At the conference, delegates discussed and clarified a number of contents on propaganda work in the new situation; proposed many measures to bring about effectiveness in propaganda work such as: Continuing to do well in leadership, direction and organization of propaganda implementation, especially for officers and soldiers of Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard; improving efficiency and proactively coordinating with agencies, departments, branches and organizations; actively innovating the content and form of conducting border work activities; proactively coordinating with forces to grasp the local situation; improving the effectiveness of propaganda work, especially in border areas, ethnic and religious areas, etc.
