Opening of the 2025 National Beach Kurash Championship

On the evening of March 12, at the Revolutionary Traditional House (No. 1, Ba Cu, Vung Tau City), the first National Beach Kurash Championship 2025 officially opened.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in coordination with the Department of Physical Training and Sports, attracting nearly 300 coaches and athletes from 19 units across the country.

The organizers presented souvenir flags to representatives of participating units.

Athletes compete in the weight categories of 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg, 81kg, 90kg, 100kg and over 100kg for men; 42kg, 45kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg, 87kg and over 87kg for women.

Held for the first time on a beach, the tournament contributes to creating opportunities for athletes to practice techniques and tactics, promoting the development of beach sports in Vietnam.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the qualifying matches took place excitingly, attracting the audience. The tournament will continue on March 13 with important matches to find the champion in each weight class.
