According to the People's Committee of District 1, in 2024, the district will achieve 30/32 socio-economic targets (of which 9 targets exceeded the plan). There are 4,301 newly established enterprises and 1,765 business households in the area, bringing the total number of enterprises operating in District 1 to 23,472 enterprises and 10,442 business households.
It is estimated that the total production value of non-state enterprises, cooperatives and business households in the district in 2024 will reach more than VND 293,572 billion. Of which, trade and services account for 81.58%; industry and construction account for 18.42%.
In particular, compared to the same period last year, the total production value increased by 10.24%; the state budget collection exceeded 20,371 billion VND, reaching 118.78% (one of 16 localities with budget collection exceeding 10% or more, being commended by the City).
In the field of urban management, the district has focused on reviewing and implementing urban beautification work to build a civilized and clean urban landscape and space in the area through implementing projects to beautify 10 sidewalks, regularly maintain 14 alleys and prepare to start renovating and repairing 79 alleys.

In 2024, District 1 issued 225 construction permits (creating 54,920.5m2 of new construction floor area). Inspected 1,683 constructions under repair and construction, recorded and promptly handled 6 violating constructions.
The district's functional units have inspected and recorded 1,517 cases of administrative violations, imposed a total fine of VND 1.34 billion, and temporarily detained 15,309 items and vehicles.
Regarding culture and society, in 2024, District 1 will have 4 locations recognized as city-level historical and cultural relics (Tran Hung Dao Temple, Ben Thanh Market, City Customs Headquarters, District 1 People's Committee Headquarters).
The district has also summarized the pilot project of 11 routes registering to temporarily use part of the sidewalk, which has been highly appreciated by the public. The district will continue to expand to the remaining 87 routes, combined with the application of the software "Look up maps and register to use part of the sidewalk".
Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Secretary of the District Party Committee, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, commended and acknowledged the efforts of the People's Committee of District 1 in closely following the direction of the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, and well performing the key tasks of the work in 2024.
The District Party Committee leaders also requested the District People's Committee to continue researching solutions, making efforts, innovating, and making breakthroughs, especially in increasing revenue from services, trade, tourism, urban management and environmental sanitation, developing cultural industries, strongly applying information technology and digital transformation, ensuring that tasks are met in the new period.
