(PLVN) - State budget revenue from import-export activities in February 2025 reached VND 33,430 billion, up 19.9% ​​over the previous month. Total state budget revenue from import-export activities in the first two months of 2025 reached VND 61,303 billion, up 8.91% over the same period last year.

(PLVN) - State budget revenue from import-export activities in February 2025 reached VND 33,430 billion, up 19.9% ​​over the previous month. Total state budget revenue from import-export activities in the first two months of 2025 reached VND 61,303 billion, up 8.91% over the same period last year.

The Customs Department has just released press information on the unit's work situation in February 2025. Accordingly, in terms of import and export goods, the total value of import and export goods in February 2025 reached 63.77 billion USD, up 0.8% (equivalent to an increase of 519 million USD) compared to the previous month. Of which, the export value reached 31.11 billion USD, down 6.3% (equivalent to a decrease of 2.08 billion USD) and the import value reached 32.66 billion USD, up 8.6% (equivalent to an increase of 2.6 billion USD).

The total value of import and export of goods in the first two months of 2025 reached 127.07 billion USD, up 12% (equivalent to an increase of 13.57 billion USD) over the same period last year. Of which, the export value reached 64.27 billion USD, up 8.4% (equivalent to an increase of 4.95 billion USD) and the import value reached 62.80 billion USD, up 15.9% (equivalent to an increase of 8.61 billion USD).

State budget revenue from import-export activities in February 2025 reached VND 33,430 billion, up 19.9% ​​(equivalent to an increase of VND 5,557 billion) compared to the previous month. Total state budget revenue from import-export activities in the first two months of 2025 reached VND 61,303 billion, equal to 14.92% of the assigned estimate, up 8.91% (equivalent to an increase of VND 5,017 billion) compared to the same period last year.

According to the Customs Department, smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation of goods across the border remained complicated during the month, focusing on consumer goods, firecrackers, gold and currency, smuggled across the Vietnam-China, Vietnam-Laos and Vietnam-Cambodia borders. The illegal trading and transportation of drugs across the border continued to be complicated. Subjects took advantage of air transport, international post and express delivery with increasingly sophisticated methods of concealing drugs, often disguised in packages of candy, functional foods, cosmetics, and pet food.

Faced with the above situation, the Customs Department has resolutely implemented the Plan for the peak period of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025. At the same time, it issued a document instructing and warning the entire industry about the situation of drugs drifting at sea; requested to review professional records and register professional customs control targets in 2025. Guided a number of provincial and municipal Customs Sub-Departments in the work of controlling drugs, precursors and using specialized equipment for drug prevention.

In addition, the Customs Department attended a meeting to discuss the Implementation Plan of the Mekong Dragon Campaign Phase VII in China; worked with the US Forest Service on issues of trade facilitation and ensuring compliance with logging laws...

As a result, from January 15 to February 14, 2025, the entire Customs sector detected, arrested and handled 1,010 cases. The value of infringing goods is estimated at more than VND 1,328 billion. 12 cases were transferred to other agencies for prosecution. The number of detected, arrested and handled cases decreased by 18.8% in terms of cases and 20.5% in terms of the value of infringing goods compared to the same period in 2024. However, the number of cases with signs of criminality increased compared to the same period in 2024.

Accumulated from December 15, 2024 to February 14, 2025, the Customs sector has detected, arrested and handled: 2,440 cases of violations of Customs laws, the value of violating goods is estimated at over VND 2,790 billion. Transferred to other agencies to propose prosecution of 19 cases. The amount collected to the budget is over VND 133 billion.

In the fight against drugs, from January 16 to February 15, 2025, the Customs sector presided over and coordinated with the Police and Border Guard forces to detect and arrest: 13 cases/16 subjects, of which the Customs agency presided over 7 cases. The seized evidence was 65.4 kg of various drugs.

Accumulated from December 16, 2024 to February 15, 2025, the Customs sector presided over and coordinated with the Police and Border Guard forces to detect and arrest: 42 cases/41 subjects, of which the Customs agency presided over 15 cases. The seized evidence was 164 kg of various drugs.
