This afternoon, November 25, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam received a delegation from the Hiroshima-Vietnam Peace and Friendship Association (HVPF) led by Chairman Akagi Tatsuo.
HVPF President Akagi Tatsuo said that in 2025, both Japan and Vietnam will hold major celebrations. In particular, Hiroshima Prefecture will hold an event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the atomic bomb disaster that hit the city.

With these events, Quang Tri and Hiroshima provinces can coordinate to organize activities to share their experiences in the process of socio-economic recovery and development. We hope that the leaders of the two localities will increase their connection and cooperation activities towards organizing an event for peace in Hiroshima.
In order to strengthen the friendly cooperation relationship between the two provinces, Hiroshima province invited the leaders of Quang Tri province to visit and work in Hiroshima in 2025. Hiroshima province has prepared a plan to welcome the delegation. We hope that Quang Tri province will soon send a specific plan so that HPVF can connect and support within its capacity.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated the activities of HVPF in Quang Tri in recent times, especially the efforts to connect and establish cooperative relations between the two provinces. At the same time, he informed that in 2024, Quang Tri province successfully organized the Festival for Peace.
Thereby spreading the message of peace, affirming that Quang Tri province in particular and Vietnam in general always love peace.
In 2026, Quang Tri province will organize the 2nd Peace Festival. Therefore, Quang Tri province agrees in principle and highly appreciates the idea of organizing connecting and sharing activities for cross-border peace proposed by HVPF.
Assign relevant departments and branches to coordinate with units of Hiroshima province to plan and submit to leaders of the two countries for approval to organize.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam said that Quang Tri province has planned to organize a visit and work in Hiroshima province in 2025.
We hope that HVPF will pay attention and support to make the delegation's trip to Hiroshima a success. At the same time, we would like to invite the leaders of Hiroshima province to visit Quang Tri in the near future.
Propose that HVPF continue to pay attention to and support Quang Tri students to access HVPF scholarship programs and Japanese Government scholarships in various fields; expand and strengthen cooperation in the fields of vocational education and labor export.
During the visit and work in Quang Tri, in the afternoon of the same day, HVPF organized the awarding of 60 scholarships, each worth 10,000 Japanese yen, to disadvantaged students at the Quang Tri Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. This is the 16th scholarship awarding ceremony of HVPF at the Quang Tri Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
