The seminar is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular policy exchange activities with relevant agencies to actively and effectively implement Directive 15 of the Secretariat on economic diplomacy to serve national development until 2030, as well as to improve the effectiveness of Vietnam's international economic integration in the coming period.
Attending the event were economic experts: Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee (VNCPEC); Dr. Hoang The Anh, Deputy Director, Institute of World Economics and Politics; Ms. Pham Chi Lan, former Secretary General, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI); Dr. Tran Thi Mai Thanh, University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Associate Professor Dr. Ta Van Loi, Director of the Institute of International Trade and Economics, National Economics University, and representatives from ministries, research institutes, universities, etc.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang assessed that the world situation and economic integration trends are changing rapidly, posing many opportunities and challenges for Vietnam. Over the past time, we have promptly grasped the trends and effectively implemented the foreign policy of the Party and State, creating a favorable environment for international integration and national development. The issue now is to continue to promptly grasp the trends so that Vietnam can effectively implement its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness, and comprehensive and extensive international integration.
The Deputy Minister hopes that through the Seminar, speakers and experts will discuss and evaluate to identify new economic linkage trends, impacts on Vietnam's integration environment and make policy recommendations for the integration process in the coming period.

Dr. Hoang The Anh emphasized the role of multilateralism in economic linkages, especially in science and technology, and said that in the integration process, balancing old factors with new factors, in which economic and strategic interests are associated with the principles of governance, transparency, fairness and comprehensiveness, is very important.
Economist Pham Chi Lan highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts and determination to integrate at a high level, especially establishing economic relations with partners at the highest level of development; at the same time, she said that to integrate effectively, Vietnam needs to continue to improve its institutions, innovate its thinking and have specific action plans to improve the competitiveness of the economy, and make good use of opportunities and benefits when participating in current associations.

Dr. Tran Thi Mai Thanh also pointed out the bottlenecks and limitations of Vietnam's economic structure in trade cooperation with partners; and proposed diversifying trade partners, improving position in the value chain, and enhancing trade facilitation to increase the resilience and recovery capacity of the economy.
Speaking at the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Quang Tuan assessed the increasing trend of geopolitical factors in international economic cooperation, saying that sustainable development, human issues and climate change are the constant trends, requiring global efforts. In the new context, opportunities and challenges for Vietnam are both great, in which the greatest opportunity for Vietnam's next integration stage is the digital economy, which is an area that we need to take advantage of in time to develop. Sharing common comments, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Van Loi emphasized the need to clearly understand the goals and priorities in the policies of major partners and quickly position Vietnam in the world's technology tower.

In his concluding remarks at the Seminar, Mr. Nguyen Dang Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation, thanked and highly appreciated the opinions and exchanges at the Seminar, saying that these results will contribute to improving the effectiveness of policy advisory work on Vietnam's economic integration orientation in the coming period, while making practical contributions to the preparation for the 32nd Diplomatic Conference, as well as summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution 22-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration.
