(To Quoc) - On the afternoon of March 4, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong had a meeting and worked with Mexican Ambassador Alejandro Nergin Munoz to discuss cultural and artistic activities that the two sides can cooperate to organize in 2025 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mexico.
Welcoming Ambassador Alejandro Nergin Munoz and his delegation to visit and work with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong expressed his hope that on the basis of the cooperation in culture, sports and tourism between the two countries, the working session with the Ambassador will achieve many good results, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of culture, sports and tourism in the context of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that since establishing diplomatic relations in 1975, the two countries have made efforts to maintain good relations and promote cooperation in many areas, including culture, sports and tourism.
To enhance the cultural, sports and tourism cooperation between the two countries, the Deputy Minister said that the two sides need to increase exchanges and organize more coordinated activities to match the development potential and meet the people's need to learn about culture.
One of the contents proposed by the Deputy Minister is that the two countries promote exchanges and create opportunities for art troupes to perform and exchange.
In addition, cultural weeks and film days should be held more frequently, combining both in-person and online formats to enhance promotional effectiveness. These activities should be enhanced as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
“The activities need to be expanded in scale as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. If conditions permit, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will actively support these activities,” Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized.
In sports, Vietnam hopes that the two sides' sports federations and associations will increase mutual support at sports forums and conferences as well as send athlete delegations to attend international sports congresses and events held in each country.
Regarding tourism, the two sides agreed to increase information exchange activities on the tourism industry in the coming time; consider exchanging delegations to share experiences in tourism development, creating conditions for businesses to seek cooperation opportunities.

In addition, Vietnam and Mexico will study the possibility of participating in and coordinating to organize tourism events at appropriate times to introduce to tourists the image and culture of each country.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mexican Ambassador to Vietnam Alejandro Negrin Munoz expressed his delight at the strong development of cooperation between the two countries in recent times. The two countries' increased support and assistance to each other in the field of culture, sports and tourism has contributed to fostering this good relationship; contributing to promoting people-to-people exchange.
Expressing his agreement with the proposals of Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, the Ambassador also affirmed that Vietnam and Mexico are both countries with unique cultures; there is room for the two sides to carry out specific cultural exchange activities.
In the coming time, the Ambassador said that priority will be given to cultural promotion activities between the two countries such as organizing exhibitions of paintings and photos, and publishing books about Mexico; especially when the two countries are approaching the important milestone of 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
Cooperation activities need to be expanded to include tourism, sports, radio and television to ensure comprehensiveness.

Agreeing with the Mexican side's proposals on activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong expressed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism always supports activities to enhance cultural, sports and tourism exchanges between the two countries, thereby promoting understanding between the people of the two countries. The Deputy Minister also assigned the Department of International Cooperation to closely coordinate with the Embassy to implement the activities./.
