The contest was held in Nam Phong commune, Phu Xuyen district, with the participation of 10 teams from the districts: Phu Xuyen, Thuong Tin, Ung Hoa.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Manh Phuong said that in recent years, thanks to the introduction of new rice varieties with high productivity, high quality, and climate change adaptation into production, combined with the application of synchronous farming techniques and mechanization into production, many areas of high-quality, concentrated-scale, and economically efficient commercial rice production have been formed in the city.
Regarding the mechanization program in rice production, by the end of 2023, the rate of mechanization in land preparation will reach 100% of the area. The rate of mechanization in sowing and planting will reach over 3% of the area; the rate of mechanization in harvesting will reach over 90% of the area.

The application of mechanization in production helps localities plan production areas, gradually forming concentrated commercial rice production areas associated with product consumption. Therefore, in order to create a "push" to promote mechanization in agricultural production in general and rice production in particular, especially in the sowing and planting stage, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has advised the City People's Committee to submit to the City People's Council Resolution No. 08/2023 on a number of policies to encourage agricultural development, including policies to support mechanization in agricultural production.
At the contest, the teams participated in two parts: self-introduction in the hall and practical machine implantation in the field.

As a result, members of Phu Thinh Agricultural Cooperative of Nam Tien commune (Phu Xuyen district) excellently won the Special Prize of the contest "Excellent rice transplanter operator in the 2024 Summer-Autumn crop".
The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 3 Consolation Prizes to other teams from 3 districts: Phu Xuyen, Ung Hoa, Thuong Tin.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Manh Phuong said that through the contest, the city hopes to mobilize and promote people to apply technical advances in agricultural production in general, while promoting mechanization in planting to improve the efficiency of rice cultivation.
