On March 15, Van Cu village communal house (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) opened the Van Cu pho village festival to welcome visitors from many places. This place is considered the cradle of Nam Dinh pho.
The spring rain poured down. More and more diners came. The people of Van Cu village eagerly welcomed guests to enjoy a bowl of pho that brought the village pho brand to all regions.
Groups of students had just finished school and were coming together to enjoy the festival, enjoying delicious bowls of pho to dispel the cold of the end of the season. "The pho has a rich flavor, it's so delicious" - said Vu Ngoc Duan (student in grade 6).
Not only can visitors enjoy the delicious taste of pho, they can also watch artisans demonstrate how to cook pho, experience the process of making pho noodles by hand, and listen to the village's senior artisans tell stories about pho in the past.

Artisan Co Nhu Thieu - a native of Van Cu village who has been involved in the pho making profession for over 30 years - said that the organizers had prepared nearly 500 kg of pho noodles to make over 3,000 bowls of pho to serve tourists.
"Our villagers always remind each other to preserve our ancestors' pho making profession and try to bring the flavor of Van Cu pho far and wide," said Mr. Thieu.
Despite going through ups and downs, many generations of Van Cu villagers have always preserved the traditional profession, joining hands to spread the local pho profession to all parts of the country.
On the same afternoon, in Nam Dinh, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Pho Festival took place with the theme "Vietnamese Pho Road" organized by the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province in coordination with other units.
The highlight of the program is the creation of a giant pho pot with the performance of 20 artists and 30 assistants.
The 300-liter broth is simmered from bones and spice powder with ingredients estimated to include 40kg of rare and well-done beef, 20kg of vegetables, chili peppers, and spices with strong Vietnamese flavors, herbs such as dried cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, cloves, coriander seeds, etc.
