Proposing Tatarstan to consider building Kamaz automobile factory in Vietnam

Receiving the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, the Prime Minister suggested that Tatarstan consider building a Kamaz automobile factory in Vietnam, a product that is very popular in the Vietnamese market.

On the afternoon of March 21, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation RN Minnikhanov.

The Prime Minister suggested that Tatarstan consider building a Kamaz automobile factory in Vietnam.

Welcoming the head of the Republic of Tatarstan to visit Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his impression of the visit to the Republic of Tatarstan on the occasion of attending the expanded BRICS Leaders' Meeting in October 2024, especially the dynamic development of Tatarstan and Kazan, the hospitality and professionalism in successfully organizing the Conference.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation; and is pleased with the dynamic development between the two countries in all fields, especially the regular exchange of high-level delegations, and positive results in economic-trade-investment, cultural, tourism, and education-training cooperation.

The Prime Minister welcomed the results of the Delegation's working session with the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee and the meeting with businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan and Hanoi that took place within the framework of the Delegation's visit; he believed that the visit of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan to Vietnam this time would contribute to promoting cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and localities of Vietnam, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Mr. RN Minnikhanov thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the delegation; shared about the potential and strengths of Tatarstan and expressed his desire to cooperate with Vietnam in areas such as artificial intelligence, information technology, automobile industry, Kamaz truck production, chemicals, civil aircraft and helicopters, food chemistry, textiles, wood furniture production, education and training, etc.

Mr. RN Minnikhanov hopes to soon open a direct flight between Kazan and the capital Hanoi to promote cooperation between Tatarstan and Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the potential and goodwill for cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan; agreed with Mr. RN Minnikhanov's proposals on expanding cooperation with Vietnam in various fields, in accordance with the needs and potential of both sides.

The Prime Minister suggested that Tatarstan consider building a Kamaz automobile factory in Vietnam, a product that is very popular in the Vietnamese market; and suggested that the Republic of Tatarstan actively promote cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially promoting people-to-people exchanges and connections between the people of the two countries in the coming time.

At the reception, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan RN Minnikhanov respectfully invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to soon visit the Republic of Tatarstan at a suitable time./.
