On the evening of March 21, coach Nguyen Hong Pham and striker Huynh Nhu shared their thoughts on how to deal with Abu Dhabi Country Club from the UAE in the quarter-finals of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League.
Abu Dhabi Country Club has 12 foreign players, including 7 Ghanaian players, 1 Brazilian goalkeeper, 1 Algerian defender, 1 Ukrainian, 2 strikers from Japan and Nepal.
The tournament regulations do not limit the number of foreign players registered for the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women. However, each match can only have a maximum of 6 players, including 1 Asian foreign player.
Huynh Nhu said: "We have researched our opponents very carefully. The other team has many foreign players, good skills and is a strong team.
The other team's physique is also taller and bigger. The coach gave us exercises to deal with the personnel of Abu Dhabi Country Club."
The main striker of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club revealed that the presence of 2 foreign players and 2 overseas Vietnamese will help the team increase its strength and prevent high balls. The team includes center back Goodwill, striker Sabrina, midfielder Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh.

"Foreign players and new players have just arrived, so we try to help them adapt. They are sociable after a period of getting used to Vietnamese style and culture. The club does not focus on achievements, we are very confident when we reach this round," said Huynh Nhu.
Coach Nguyen Hong Pham, who was registered to replace coach Doan Thi Kim Chi, said: "The match is decisive so mentality is very important. We try to keep a cool head for 90 minutes, even 120 minutes and be ready for the penalty shootout."
The match between Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and Abu Dhabi Country Club will take place at 7:30 p.m. on March 22 at Thong Nhat Stadium. Spectators are free to enter the stadium to cheer on the Ho Chi Minh City women's team.
