Nam Dinh determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before July 1, 2025

Kinhtedothi - On the morning of March 19, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province held a meeting of the Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.


Mr. Pham Dinh Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee chaired the conference.

Also attending the conference were Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee, members of the Steering Committee, leaders of districts, cities and related departments, branches and sectors.

Implementing Decision No. 539/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province have issued many directive documents, including: Directive No. 23-CT/TU and Plan No. 101/KH-UBND. In which, the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 23-CT/TU dated December 6, 2024 on strengthening leadership and direction in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Nam Dinh province; The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 101/KH-UBND dated July 5, 2024 on implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" in the province; Plan No. 01/KH-UBND dated January 3, 2025 on implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; Decision No. 556/QD-UBND approving the Project to support people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives with housing in Nam Dinh province in 2025; Plan No. 04/KH-UBND dated January 10, 2025 on organizing a launching ceremony to join hands in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Nam Dinh province.

On that basis, departments, branches and localities have actively, proactively and promptly issued documents to implement contents according to assigned functions and tasks, ensuring implementation progress.

The propaganda and dissemination work to implement Plan No. 101/KH-UBND dated July 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" in the province has been promoted.

The work of mobilizing party members, civil servants, public employees, workers, people of all walks of life and businesses to join hands and contribute to the "For the Poor" Fund has been strengthened.

The work of reviewing, identifying subjects in need of support and arranging funding sources was carried out effectively.

To date, in the province, there are 1,573 households of people with meritorious services to the revolution facing housing difficulties that are eligible for support under Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2024 of the Prime Minister. The estimated support cost is about 62 billion VND, implemented from funds guaranteed by the central budget.

Regarding poor and near-poor households, all 9/9 districts and cities have completed the review and reporting of support needs for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Of which, 3 districts: Xuan Truong, Truc Ninh, Nghia Hung reported that there are no more poor or near-poor households with temporary or dilapidated houses in the area and 6/9 districts and cities issued decisions approving the list of 292 poor and near-poor households living in temporary or dilapidated houses requesting support for new construction, renovation and repair (140 new construction, 152 renovation). The estimated budget to support the implementation of the program is about 13 billion VND.

After unifying the data, Nam Dinh province updated the list of poor and near-poor households living in temporary and dilapidated houses into the software of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in accordance with regulations.

In his speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Dinh Nghi praised the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities. At the same time, he requested to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the policies of the Party and State, ensuring the completion of the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province before July 1, 2025.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to complete the list and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the budget allocation. The Department of Finance promptly advises on budget allocation and issues instructions for use and settlement. The Department of Construction coordinates with relevant agencies to support the construction and repair of new houses. The Provincial Military Command, Border Guard and Provincial Police actively support human resources. The People's Committees of districts and cities promptly allocate funds and supervise the use of support sources.
