Recently, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee issued Directive No. 30-CT/TU on "Strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels in building elegant and civilized Hanoians". Accordingly, the Directive clearly states that, thoroughly grasping the guiding viewpoints of the Party and State in the field of culture, the Hanoi Party Committee always identifies building elegant and civilized Hanoians as an important content in the cultural development strategy, forming a system of cultural values associated with promoting the profound human values of Thang Long - Hanoi; considering this an important resource and driving force for the development of the Capital.
One of the tasks to effectively implement the directive issued by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee is to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of cadres, party members and people of the capital in promoting the qualities of elegant and civilized Hanoians... Propagating, educating and mobilizing people of the capital to constantly raise awareness of compliance, respect for discipline and law, building social relations rich in humanity on the basis of promoting traditional beauty; having a cultural lifestyle and behavior at all times, everywhere, in all areas of social life...
To effectively implement the content of the Directive to all levels of trade unions, the leader of the Propaganda Department - Hanoi City Labor Federation said that the Department has closely followed the contents of the Directive and consulted on implementation documents with the spirit of organizing practical activities, close to the grassroots, and the criteria given are suitable to the activities and criteria that agencies and units are implementing.
In the past time, in order to implement the construction of elegant and civilized Hanoians, and to build agencies and units that meet cultural standards, the Hanoi Labor Federation has always closely followed the goals and tasks of Program 06-CTr/TU of the City Party Committee on "Developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the period of 2021-2025" and Decision 2214/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Program to implement the Movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in the period of 2021-2026.
Implementing Directive 30-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, 2024 will be the first year that the Labor Federation reviews and recognizes agencies and units that meet cultural standards. In addition, the Propaganda Department - City Labor Federation has developed a propaganda work program, including many cultural activities closely following the direction of the City Party Committee. In 2024, there will be a number of events taking place such as: Organizing an art performance festival for colleges and universities; organizing competitions for all levels of the Capital's trade unions related to the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital...
In addition, the Propaganda Department integrates propaganda content on implementing the code of conduct, building corporate culture, and office culture throughout 2024 to propagate and closely follow the direction of the City Party Committee.
Notably, an activity being implemented by the Labor Federation that has made an impression is the construction of Workers' Cultural Activity Points in units, enterprises, industrial parks, export processing zones and residential areas with a large concentration of workers in the period 2022-2025.
From 2021 to 2023, the City Labor Federation has built 14 new workers' cultural activity points, maintaining the activities of established points according to the set schedule. Up to now, the whole city has 61 workers' cultural activity points built based on the needs of union members, workers and civil servants to enjoy cultural and sports activities.
The workers' cultural activity points are equipped with legal bookshelves on various fields of life, documents on Vietnamese workers' unions; chairs, tables, computers, LED screens, speakers, microphones... to serve the cultural activities of workers. At the same time, to improve the physical health of workers, the cultural activity points are also arranged with badminton courts, volleyball courts, and gyms. The workers' cultural activity points have been practically equipped, meeting the needs and aspirations of workers, and have been approved and supported by enterprises, thereby contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers.
In 2024, the City Labor Federation set a target of building 6 new cultural activity centers for workers, and up to now, 10 units have registered. This shows that improving the spiritual life of workers is increasingly receiving practical attention.
